Sitting at the Ravenclaw table, Theresa Greenburg was completely bored. Jane was being a bitch, saying how much Holland Cordero deserved to be in the Hospital Wing. No one knew why, though, not even the other Amazons. It was driving Theresa crazy, who just wanted to know how was her best friend doing. So she wasn't listening to Jane, or she was going to punch someone.
She also had a huge headache, and she was so tired she wanted to sleep on the table. Theresa drank a lot, the night before, a lot more than she should have, and she spent the night with an Hufflepuff boy. She didn't remember his name, but who cared? Theresa would probably never speak to him again. It's the kind of things that happens when Theresa Greenburg drinks four bottles of Firewhiskey.
Looking throught her sunglasses, Theresa stared at her waffles drowned in maple syrup, fighting a wave of nausea. She was regretting everytime she drank so much the day after; when she was in hangover. Theresa could drink thousands cups of coffee, her hangover usually lasted a whole day.
When the nausea calmed down, she looked up and noticed Sirius Black, in the corner of her eye. He didn't seem ashamed or anything, maybe just a little... Pissed off? A huge smile appeared on her face, thinking about every single bit of his declaration. Holland did a remarkable job.
"Theresa, are you listening?", Jane's annoyed voice asked.
"Yeah. You were talking about gillyweed, no?", Theresa groaned, even thought she was pretty sure Jane wasn't talking about gillyweed.
"No, I wasn't. I was saying that you should drink less", Jane announced.
"Why? You drink as much as I do", Theresa grumbled, clenching her teeths because of her headache.
"Yes, but you become drunk way earlier than I do. I don't wake up in a boy's bed without knowing when I got there, at least", she said.
Theresa looked at her with an indignant face. She wasn't that angry; Theresa knew that her friend was right. But still, Jane wasn't the right person to reprimand her.
"Are you calling me a skank? I'm young, gorgeous, the boys like me and I want to have fun, so why not? I won't party when I'll be fourty, you know, so I'm doing it now. What's wrong with that?", she snapped, clearly offensed.
"I'm not calling you a skank! I understand your point, that's why I do the same thing! But you should still drink less. You could fall in a coma because you drink too much alcohol, and I don't want to loose my partner", Jane explained quickly. "You're so touchy when you're in hangover."
"Yeah, I know, sorry", Theresa mumbled, before whispering a quick 'whore!'. "Jane, I need to talk to Black, I'll join you later."
"Okay," her friend sighed.
The Veela swang her legs out of the Ravenclaw table, replaced her shirt and walked towards the Gryffindor table. She wanted to know what happened after Sirius' love declaration, and if he was angry. She wanted to know everything about that, so she could make a full report to the other girls.
"Hello Sirius, boys", Theresa grinned.
"No, I am not gay," Siriu rolled his eyes.
"Well, that's cool to know, but I didn't come to ask that. I came to ask what happened, and what did you do to take off the effects of the Love Potion?"
The four boys eyed her skeptically.
"How do you know it was a Love Potion?", James asked, looking rather tired, his hair even messier than usual, with big bags under his eyes.
"I may look dumb, but I'm not. You know, I can see when a Love Potion is in the game. Dreamy eyes, some babbling, ready to announce to the Universe his deep love... And there was the logo of 'The Hippogriff' behind, which meant it was a prank from The Amazons... So yeah, I'm saying you drank a bottle of Firewhiskey full of Love Potion, right before the marvellous scene happened. And I want to know how you got it", Theresa explained, playing with her blonde hair.
She knew that Sirius liked a lot her blonde hair.
The four boys exchanged looks, and finally nodded, noticing that her explanation was quite correct.
"Well, right before I confessed my deep love for the Snake, I was with Belcour. We went for a drink together, and BOOM! I was in love with him."
"So can Belcour be 'The Hippogriff'? I wouldn't think so, I'm not sure I ever heard her speak...", Therea began.
"Yeah, but it can be a cover!", James popped in, suddently interested.
"No, guys, it's not Belcour who took the bottle on the bar, I took it... She probably had no idea about it. And when I started to babble about how I needed it to be known from the entire world, she was trying to stop me. Belcour is not an Amazon, she tried to help me", Sirius said.
James looked quite disappointed, while Theresa was holding back a smirk. Sofia was a pretty good actress, and no one would ever suspect her. That was even better than she thought.
"So, how did it go off?"
"Moony took me to the Hospital wing. Madam Pomfrey didn't ask questions, but it was pretty obvious that the both of us were drunk. After five minutes, I was just like before, and I went back to the party. I think we kissed right after, but I'm not sure... It's quite fuzzy in there", he groaned, putting his hands on his head.
"If we did, I don't remember", Theresa shrugged, not bothered at all. "But guys, am I the only one who's having a terrible hangover? You don't look too bad"
"Well, thanks," Remus smiled, rolling his eyes. "You don't look awful either, you know."
"Are you serious? I can't even open my eyes without my sunglasses."
"Well, I'm not Sirius, he is", Remus smirked, pointing at the boy in question.
Wow, what a great, and original pun, Remus.
"But you should think about brewing an Hangover potion. It helps a lot."
Theresa thanked him, and the owls entered the Great Hall at the same time. With surprise, she realised her owl, Elleira, (pronounced E-l-ee-r-a) was in the lot. Elleira dropped the letter in front of her, and stayed on the table, drinking in Peter's pumpkin juice. Theresa immediately opened the letter.
Dear Tessa,
I need your help. It's an emergency. Can you send me a hundred galleons before October 14? I'm in trouble. In big trouble.
I'm sorry,
Jordan
Theresa frowned. She didn't know why would Jordan ask for her help... Unless he... No, he promised her he stopped. He didn't lie. Theresa and Jordan were too close, he couldn't lie to her like this...
Theresa paled, when what she feared the most appeared in her head, and no, it wasn't Lord Voldemort in a bikini. She didn't want to help him because he broke his promise, she was sure about that. But at the same time, if she didn't help him, he could be killed... Theresa can't let him down like this.
After she read the letter 24 times, Theresa realised she had no choice; she'll have to send him a hundred galleons, since he was apparently desesperate. But she didn't have a hundred galleons. And she couldn't ask somebody, because 1. It's a lot of money and 2. She can't explain why she need it.
Theresa groaned loudly and hit her head on the table, resting on it. She didn't know what to do. Even the Amazons couldn't help her, since she never told them about Jordan's... Little problems.
"Theresa? Everything okay?", Sirius asked, confused.
He never saw her so desesperate and angry. He already knew she was in a hard hangover, but it seemed worse than just that. Usually, Theresa is the bubbly girl, honest, full of personnality. Not the grumpy, sad, afraid girl. She wasn't in her normal state, and he could tell it.
"Yeah, of course", Theresa lied, smiling.
Sirius stared at her for a while, and then nodded. If she didn't want to tell him, he could do nothing about it. It wasn't like they were dating...
"Anyway, I'm leaving. I'm going to skip the class this morning", Theresa groaned. "It's great to know you're not under the influence of a Love Potion anymore, Sirius"
She raised from her seat, quickly kissed Sirius and left the Great Hall. The four Marauders were still staring at her, unsure about why her attitude changed so much in seconds.
Once Theresa was in her bedroom, she searched in all her trunks, hiding places, clothes, everywhere, trying to find the more galleons she could. After looking in every pocket of every clothes, in every purse she owned, in all the places where she was hiding things, everywhere, she had thirty galleons. Thirty galleons. And she needed a hundred galleons.
Completely discouraged, Theresa sat on her bed, her head in her hands. She couldn't send him a hundred galleons! But knowing , he probably had trouble with drugs, and in this world, when someone owes money to a drug dealer, they get killed. Theresa knew it.
She thought her brother had given up completely on drugs, but apparently he didn't. She didn't know what she could do about it. Theresa was really close to her brother, and Jordan lied to her. She understand, how hard it is to tell someone about that kind off stuff, but she's his sister. Theresa always supported him, and he still found the way to lie.
But Theresa was determined to help him. She was angry he lied, but she would still help him. Theresa would find those seventy galleons, no matter what.
When the Veela wants something, she gets it.
That's something everybody knows by now.
