THE MARAUDERS
With enough homeworks for a lifetime, plenty of evaluations, friends and girlfriends/boyfriends who wants attention, the lack of sleep pretty much everyone was suffering from and the anxiety about becoming an adult and passing their N.E.W.Ts, every seventh year in Hogwarts were overwhelmed. Even the Marauders had pushed aside the 'Amazons drama', to focus on their studies. No one truly believed it, when they saw James Potter and Sirius Black asking themselves questions about Herbology. They thought it was only a front, and something in the Library would soon blow up. But no, it didn't happen.
For a whole week, there was no pranks in Hogwarts. From the Prewett Twins, The Marauders and The Amazons. Hogwarts was becoming a place way too calm. Even though James Potter had decided to focus on his studies, he couldn't help it; he had to trouble the quietness of the castle.
And, let's admit it, he wouldn't have lasted long with school works. It was boring.
And James hated what was boring.
"Pads", James whispered in the Library, staring at the Marauders Map, wide-eyed.
"What?" his friend whispered back.
"There's something weird", James muttered. "Are Theresa and Sofia friends?"Sirius raised his eyebrows, a smile plastered on his handsome face. He layed back on his chair, his feet on the table, and stared at James. He was done with homewroks too.
"Never. They hate each other, Sofia being my girlfriend and knowing what happened between me and Tess, she doesn't like her very much. And Sofia being my girlfriend, Theresa doesn't like her either."
"Then, why are they together in an empty Charms class?" James asked, showing his friend the map.
Usually, they didn't use the Map in public spaces. It was their secret, the reason why they were so successful. But in the Library filled with panicking seventh years, there was no chance anyone would pay attention to them.
Sirius' grey eyes scanned the Map, where his friend's designed to look. Indeed, side by side, there was the names of Theresa Greenburg and Sofia Belcour.
"I don't understand", Sirius said, frowning. "I can only think of two reasons of why they'd be there together. One, Tess tries to fix things up with her, so she can speak with me again without feeling guilty. Two, they're fighting and pulling each other's hair."
"Or three, they are friends and we didn't know about it."
Sirius glanced at James.
"Why would they be friends, and why would they both hide it to me?"
"I don't know", James said. "But we both know some friendships are best left hidden. Specially when you're pranking people, without them knowing who you are."
Sirius stared at James, before barking with laughter. Madam Pince immediately came over with a reprobative look on her face, shushed him to silence, and vanished, still eyeing the young boy carefully.
Sirius bent towards James, a smile on his face.
"You really think that Sofia Belcour, Miss Quiet who, by the way, hated us because of our pranks, is an Amazon? And Theresa Greenburg would never do things in the shadows. She likes being in the light way too much. Can't blame her though", Sirius sighed. "With a body like hers, I'd show off too."
"Well, think about it", James whispered. "It might be something. Theresa gave us informations abou the Amazons' prank, like she knew all they did perfectly. And, the only other person who helped us, may I remind you, is Sofia. Think about a better cover? We would never think it's them, because they helped us in the past. They're smart, Pad, I can't see why there's no chances it's them."
