Sofia Belcour stayed awake all night, trying to find a solution. About what? Well, she was more pissed off than ever about Sirius' constant demands to go on a 'date' with him, while Sofia knew what was a date for him. In the girl's opinion, a date was supposed to be something casual, like dinner, or an activity. Maybe even an expedition, a new adventure. And all this to know the other person better, to see if she had potential. But in the boy's mind, everything in a date happened in a bedroom. Well, so Sofia thought.
Sat in her bed, sat beside the window, walking quietly in her dormitory, the sound of her steps muffled by her friends' gentle snores, Sofia couldn't find the right solution. She had a few, and well, there wasn't any great one. She had:
1. Ignore him and he'll get over it someday
2. Go on a date with him, and do everything to disgust him, so he would never bother her again
3. Make him understand he doesn't worth more than a worm to her eyes with the rudest way possible, so he would stop to ask her out
4. Turn him into a cat
5. Ask Holland to poison him in his sleep
Even though The Phoenix was tired and exhausted, she couldn't go to sleep before she had a solution. Her long, brown, wavy hair was tickling her sides at every move she was doing, her deep brown eyes stuck outside the window, on the Black Lake, where the water's calm was occasionaly being troubled by gentle waves.
Sofia turned her back to the window, and stared at her sleeping friends. Lily was gently snoring, Alice had her hair all over her face, and Marlene was drooling on her pillow. Sofia loved those girls. They were true friends for her. But she couldn't help but wonder how her life would have looked if there wasn't the 'Houses boundaries'. What would have happened if there was no competition between the Houses. If there was no Houses at all.
Instead of Marlene, there would be Theresa in that bed, since it was the one with the biggest wardrobe beside. Theresa would be wearing a mask on her eyes at the beginning of her sleep, and then it would go away eventually.
Instead of Lily, there would be Ellie in that bed, her ginger hair all across the pillow. She would probably have Donkey with her. Donkey was Elizabeth's stuffed pet. A monkey. The young girl told her friends about its existence only a year ago. She was quite ashamed of the name, though. Since Ellie gave its name at a young age, she didn'trealised she was calling a monkey 'Donkey'. But it was now to late to change it.
Holland would be in Alice's bed. She would probably wear funny pajamas that she knew her family would hate, with puns or burgers all over them. It would be a rebellion against her parents, without them knowing about that. Holland loved to subtly tell her parents that they could go shove their opinions up their arses. Though she'd never want them to know how she truly felt. She'd be punished really hard, Sofia knew it.
Sofia had a sad smile. She loved her Gryffindor friends, but it wasn't like The Amazons. The Amazons were sisters, a family. When Ingrid, Lizzy's sister, was sick, it was hard for all of them. Even though none of them ever met her, they heard so much about her, it was like she was their little sister too. When Holland was spending a bad night because Malcolm or another one of her ex boyfriend was being an ass, they were sitting in the Room of Requirements, with ice cream, tea and fries. It's a weird mix, but they liked it. It was unique, just like their friendship was. When Theresa was having a crisis about an upcoming exam and that she was letting her anxiety get out, she was telling the other girls. No one else knew about her bad anxiety. And when Sofia had a bad cold, The Amazons kidnapped her at the infirmary to keep her company the whole night. None of them went to class the day after, but it was a sacrifice to make. One of them has an issue, they all have it.
The Amazons weren't only best friends who all enjoyed pranking. They were sisters. They needed each other to keep going. They were a whole.

"... so that's when I told her it had no freaking sense!", Marlene said, waving her fork while talking. "I mean, yes, I slept with her boyfriend in the past. But it's not a reason that I would jump on him now! It happened a long time ago. McKaylee Terrison can breathe and relax, instead of glaring at me at every occasions. Look! She's doing it right now!"
Sofia turned around to face the Hufflepuff table, where was sitting McKaylee Terrison. She was holding her fork tight, glaring at Marlene with her hazel eyes, her yellow and black tie falling into the syrup of her waffles, along with a few brown hair. Then, when the sixth year noticed the eyes of the whole gang on her, she turned around, like she was looking outside the door this whole time.
If she thought nobody would have noticed, she was completely wrong.
Shaking her head, Sofia went back to her plate. The two eggs her friends put in her plate wasn't tempting her, at all. Her pale face was the result of her long, sleepless night.
"You okay Sof?" Lily asked gently.
"Yes, I just didn't sleep much last night, that's all," Sofia answered, playing with the yellow of her egg.
Only seeing food was grossing her out.
"Yeah, we can see that. It's dark purple, under your eyes. It looks like you put purple eyeshadow on the wrong part of the eye," Alice said.
"Why didn't you sleep?", Marlene ask, planting her fork into a sausage.
"I just couldn't," Sofia lied.
The thought of the life she would have lived with the other Amazons, if they were all in the same House, was haunting her mind, and so was the dilemma she was living with Black. She figured out after a while that poisoning him wasn't a good idea, nor the 'turn-him-into-a-cat' plan. She knew she wasn't threatning enough to scare him away, so there was still two options. Sofia would try the first one, but if it wasn't working, the second one would come. Her last option was to humiliate him, with the help of the other Amazons, but she wasn't sure if she was mean enough to.
"Well, we can ask Fairy Potty if there's a plant or magic berries to make you sleep," Marlene joked.
They all knew how to brew a Sleeping Draugh, but the effort of the joke was great enough. Sofia was laughing everytime someone was calling the Marauders 'Fairy .......' since Halloween. The pride of the prank was still fresh in her memory, and was coming back everytime someone teased them. It was Fairy Potty, Fairy Loopy, Fairy Peety, and Fairy Blacky. Together, they were the Merry Fairies. Two weeks happened since the Halloween prank, yet those nicknames were still heard everywhere. Every student that the Marauders taunted one day was singing it, happy to finally have a small revenge. And Sofia couldn't have been happier. Even some teachers were calling them the Merry Fairies.
Since her job was to stop bullies and show them what it felt like. It has been her mission since she left primary and entered into a Wizarding School, Beauxbâtons. That's part of the reason why she was kicked out. The ways she had of showing it wasn't approved by most teachers at her old school, let's say.
Sofia laughed and smiled tiredly at her friends.
"Nah, I'm okay, really," she assured her friends, taking a sip of her Pumpkin juice.
Her friends smiled at her, unsure, but changed the subject, to Sofia's happiness.
"What's our first class today?" Alice asked.
"Transfiguration," a male voice answered behind them.
Sofia turned around, and her eyes fell on Sirius, grinning. Her heart stopped to beat, and a lump appeared in her stomach. Not because she suddently began to love him, no, it wasn't like that. It was because Sofia didn't know what he was going to say this time, and she didn't want to discover. Was it too hard to just leave her alone?
"What do you want, Fairy Blacky?", Marlene spat with a small smirk.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny, McKinnon," Sirius said ironically.
Sofia couldn't help but notice the way his shirt was showing every single muscles of his arms and his chest. The way the shirt was straining when his arm was ellongated...
"Belcour, will you offer me the honor walk you to the modest Transfiguration classroom?"
"Sure," Sofia blurted out, without even realising what was the question.
She just felt too embarassed since, well, she was staring at Black's arms. Sexy arms, she had to admit it.
Her three friends turned to face her, all their eyebrows furrowed. Something flashed throught Marlene's eyes, and Sofia realised it was probably hurt, but she couldn't be completely sure about it.
This whole situation was making Sofia uncomfortable. Sofia knew that Marlene liked Sirius. But she also knew that Theresa loved him, it was obvious to the all the Amazons but herself. And Sirius liked Sofia. She didn't know what to do in that awkward situation.
The young Gryffindor raised on her feet, clutched her books on her chest and left the Great Hall with Black, leaving her untouched breakfast and her three confused friends behind her. The Phoenix could also feel Theresa's eyes following every step she was doing in company of Black.
"Alors?", Sofia asked the second they were out of the Great Hall.
Sirius furrowed his eyebrows and glanced at her. Sofia thought a few seconds, and realised she had just spoken in French. She was often mixing the French and English when she was nervous.
"So?", she corrected herself.
Sofia forced herself to look at everything but Sirius. The painting on the walls, outside the windows, the ceiling, everywhere but him.
"Well, my birthday was two weeks ago..."
Sofia glanced at him quickly.
"Too bad I missed it",Sofia announced, trying to keep the irony out of her voice.
"You didn't, actually",Sirius grinned.
"What?" Sofia asked. "But your birthday is on November 3..."
"For someone who doesn't care about me at all, you know a lot about me," Sirius smirked.
Sofia's cheeks turned into a light shade of pink. It wasn't because she was stalking or spying him that she knew about that, no... It was mostly because most girls in sixth year were wondering how to wish him "Happy birthday" in the girl's restroom, and she had to hear all their plans.
"Why isn't your birthday done already?"
"Too many homeworks," he said too quickly.
Sofia raised her eyebrows. She wasn't going to be fooled.
Sirius Black, not partying for homeworks?
Yeah, right. And the Tooth Fairy was her mother.
"It doesn't have a link with the fact you woke up dressed as a fairy only two days before?" Sofia smirked a little bit.
"No- Okay, yes," Sirius admitted after he noticed the look in Sofia's eyes. "The Amazons were smarter than us, I got to admit it. I mean, coming right into our faces with the appearance of the people we're the closest to? It was brilliant. Trapping us into our own trap as easily as saying 'Hi'? It was dumb from us. But still, they didn't have to turn us into fairies! I still have purple glitters in my hair," he grumbled.
Sofia was bitting her cheek so hard to stiffle her laugh, it was bleeding inside her mouth.
"You shouldn't have messed with them," Sofia announced. "I don't approve the way they're acting, but you guys are idiots if you didn't learn your lesson since the time they're outsmarting you with everything. It begun when, in fifth year?"
Sirius nodded.
"Yeah. Anyway, so my birthday party is going to be on Saturday," Sirius continued, trying to change the subject as quickly as possible. "And I want you to come with me."
Sofia stopped in the hallway.
"You mean, as your date?"
"Kinda, yeah."
"No," Sofia refused, beginning to walk faster.
"Why not?", Sirius whined, following her.
"1. I know what you do on parties with alcohol and I'm not planning to have sex with you 2. Why would I say yes and 3. Do I even need a three?"
"For 1. I wasn't planning it either 2. Because I'm Sirius Black, synonym of charming, funny and handsome and 3. You don't have any other excuse, so that's why you asked that question."
Sofia clenched her fists.
"Why don't you ask someone else? Someone hotter, more popular and everything, like Theresa Greenburg. Your reputation of ladykillers would continue, but I don't wanna be involved in it."
Sirius caught her arm, to stop her from walking. They were standing so close, Sofia could feel Sirius's breath on her forehead.
"I don't care about Theresa Greenburg! I don't want her," Sirius exclaimed a little too loudly for Sofia's taste. "Not anymore. I want to go with you, is it so much to ask? Look, I got you a deal: You're my date for my birthday party, and if you still want me to leave you alone after the party, then fine, I'll leave you alone."
Sofia thought about it. It was risky, to go to a party with Sirius Black. He was known for drinking a lot, and being, well, horny after a few bottles. And Sofia was also scared that she would spend an amazing evening with him, scared that she would have some fun. Because if she does, nothing could stop her from liking him, and maybe falling for him.
But at the same time, it was a great offer. One night, and he lets her alone for the rest of the year. Sofia couldn't refuse.
"Okay. Deal."
Sofia turned away from Sirius, and a flash of blonde hair caught her attention.
Only one person in the whole castle had that kind of blond hair.
Theresa.
Who clearly heard everything that Sirius just said.
Before Sofia could call her name, Theresa Greenburg disappeared.
