Sitting in the Starbucks, I noticed that the only people around me where some preppy girls and- I quote- "geek chic hipster". I actually cringed at the words and went off, huddling in the back corner of the shop waiting for Daniel. He was now ten minutes late and I had to get to class. Being known as the girl who was late for the first day of her second year of college was not the reputation I wanted.

I heard the bell chime off just as I had flipped open my book and jerked my head up. Daniel had just walked in. While he had only taken steps, his long stride took him about half way through the Cafe. He was wearing a blue flannel shirt and dark wash jeans. His black and blue converse were covered in scruffs from previous wears. One broad shoulder had a black backpack slung over it. Pins and stitch-on pictures covered every inch of it- most pins having to do with One Direction or Gay rights.

Yes, Daniel was gay and nobody I knew that we hung out with had a problem with it. If they did, we would promptly beat the shit out of them- not that Daniel needed the help. He could do perfectly fine on his own; all of us could, actually.

While Daniel did come in, he wasn't alone: Ally, Elizabeth and Lilly were with him.

Let me give you some back-round information before I go on- these four people are amazing. They're my best friends and I don't know what I would do without them. I also don't know how many insults I wouldn't know right now without them. Seriously, you do not want to be on the other side of an argument with them.

Ally pointed to my table and I sipped my iced coffee, waving with a grin spreading across my face. With her wild curly brown-black hair bouncing at the sides of her face, she ran over to me. While I was only 5"5, she stood at about 5"2, making everybody turn to the little Mexican racing through the store. She stopped abruptly in front of me with her silver eyes ablaze. I laughed and tried pull her into a hug, but she stopped me with a sucker punch to the arm.

"Ow!" I exclaimed, though I was over reacting. "What the hell was that for?"

"You told me you were going to come in yesterday! I had to unpack by myself!" she threw another punch, even more angry this time. I rolled my eyes and ruffled her hair.

"You didn't get me coffee." She grumbled.

"I didn't even know you were coming!" I defended. The others came over and said their hellos.

"Did you unpack at the loft yet?" Daniel asked. He was referring to our loft- our group's loft. Well, our group excluding Lilly. Her super rich dad got her an apartment that she could have by herself. It worked out because there were only four rooms, anyway. I nodded.

"Yup. Took like 45 minutes." I said with a shrug. My friends exchanged glances and I let out a sigh with an eye roll. "What?"

"It took you less than an hour to unload all of your stuff? 45 minutes to unload the stuff that is going to last you all year?" Elizabeth asked. Her eyes wide and curious while one of her eye brows was raised. Her eyes were awesome. They had a navy blue/teal colored blue around the edges and middle, but extracting from the pupil was a copper colored brown. They had a look to them where they seemed to look into your soul. It was good if she was staring down your enemy but creepy if she was staring you down.

"Yeah, is that not good...?" Irritation was starting to sound in my voice. They laughed. I really don't understand what's happening! What's wrong with only having a short amount of things to unload? Deciding not to push it, I grabbed my messenger bag off of the chair and pulled my keys out.
