~Elizabeth~
Everything has been pissing me off lately. I even got so pissed off at Daniel a little bit ago that he gave me a weird look and cowered away muttering "Well it's somebody's time of the month..." And, in case you were wondering, you never mention a girl's period unless you are looking to die.
It is currently eleven at night and we are waiting for Oliver and Zander to come back. It is a forty minute drive to Harold's house and they left at 9:25, so they should be here soon, unless there is traffic. With a cheap beer at hand I glanced at the members of my group of friends.
Ally is slung over a chair in the corner, fiddling with her phone. She has been distant lately and I wonder why- I will have to check that out tomorrow. Daniel is flipping through the channels of the television, trying to predict who is getting kicked off of a singing competition. A deep line was set on his face, in the middle of his eye brows- his deep chocolate eyes focused. Dimitri sat less than a foot away, studyying every inch of Daniel's face. After a long session of creeper staring, he did a fairly awkward thing to do.
He poked Daniel's cheek.
Daniel chose to ignore it the first time, but as his index finger was about to come in contact with Daniel's face for a second time, Daniel whipped his head around, chomping down on Dimitri's finger. Dimitri howled in pain, shaking his finger, but Daniel simply chose to go back to his show and ignore Dimitri.
And then there was Brent...
I truly did feel sorry that she got fired because of that ass-hat, Jake, but am not sorry at how I reacted. She has no reason to punch a wall and go off on me. Yes, she has had a tough life, but so have all of us! We may not admit it, but we all have had a hard life in one way or another- just not in the same way.
She is currently sleeping on the couch, cuddling with a pillow while completely unaware that I am burning holes in her forehead. Though, as if she sensed my stares, she scowled in her sleep and made a low, growling sound.
That isn't freaky at all...
But I wasn't the only one staring at her.
Bradly was perched next to her, staring at her lovingly with adoration written in bold letters across his face. I could see his fingers twitch, itching to move the hair out of her face. Finally, when he thought we were all looking away, he skimmed his calloused fingers over her cheek, repositioning a strand of blue-brown hair out of her face. Though I am currently pissed off at Brent, I am still her best friends and if a guy is touching her without her permission, I am going to beat his ass.
But seeing the look on Bradly's face... I couldn't bring myself to do it.
So, being the amazing person I am, I walked over and dragged Bradly into the kitchen. Brent hardly stirred and Ally and Daniel didn't even care enough to glance my way. I dragged Bradly by his wrist and sat him down at the kitchen bar.
"So when did you fall in love with Brent?" I asked casually. Bradly's eyes bugged out of his head and his mouth was left hanging open. He sputtered and tried to deny what I was saying.
"Oh, please do not pin me as the stupid gullible type. I have more smarts than this entire group put together, so stop pretending you're good at lying because you're not." I said, rolling my eyes and he visibly gave up.
"How did you find out?" he demanded, then his eyes bugged again. "Does Brent know?!" he whisper shouted and I scoffed.
"Please, Brent may be smart but she is completely oblivious when it comes to people's feelings. Oh God, and never cry in front of her. She gets really uncomfortable and freaked out and doesn't know what to do. One time, this kid at campus started crying because he failed a test and Brent just stared at him and backed away. It was actually kind of funny..." I said, then trailed off realizing I was very off topic.
