I was about to go full on Hulk on Oliver and chase him down the street, but didn't want to leave Lilly alone. After pacing the room about 100 times, earning odd glances from my friends, I stalked off into my room. I went through the options of what to do in my head over and over again, deciding on the best decision. I hated what we had to do, but if we wanted to keep Lilly alive then it was our best chance.
But that didn't mean I couldn't kill Oliver to keep Lilly alive.
I pulled on low sitting jeans and a tank, then walked out into the hall with a blank expression on my face. My hair was in a high ponytail and swished behind me as I walked. When I finally walked inside, Lilly was sitting up and sipping water with three grim faces around her.
They were about to get even more grim.
"You're not going to like this." I started off and the faces turned even more grim. "But we have to take Lilly to her dad." I said flatly. Everybody spoke at once.
"WHAT?"
"With that psycho?"
"HELL TO THE NO!"
"Okay."
The last one was from Ally, who had the same idea as I. An unspoken message was passed as we looked at each other.
"It has to be done. It is the only way to keep her safe! I'm not at all buying into what Oliver said, but we need to take care of our friend. Deep down, you agree with me." I waited for disagreement, but all I got was shock. Just as I picked up the phone to call Oliver, Jake came in looking pissed.
"Brent! Are you okay? I'm going to kill that guy." growled Jake as he inspected me for wounds. I pulled his hands off and looked him in the eye. He was genuinely concerned and it made butterflies go around my stomach.
"I'm fine, but I need you to promise me something before I make this call, okay?"
"Anything."
"Promise not to kill Oliver when he comes over to pick us up?" as expected, he flipped out. I groaned and looked at my shoes.
"No! This guy comes in here, yells at you, makes you feels bad, causes Hulk to come, and made Lilly faint!" he bellowed. I spotted Daniel sitting down and leaning back, looking as if he wanted popcorn.
"One, nobody has the right or ability to make me feel bad. Two, the guy is less than scary, Jake. He couldn't make a kitten afraid. Three, everything makes Hulk come out. Four, Lilly fainted because the spawn of Satan himself has broken out of jail. And five, would you rather Lilly stay unprotected? We need to take her to her father otherwise she could get taken. And now, not only is Lilly not safe, but if he really is out there, then we are all in danger of this psycho. So if you won't do this for Lilly, do it for me." when I finished, I was out of breath and full of passionate anger. It boiled inside me, ready to explode. A long moment passed between us.
"Okay. Fine. Call him." he said, seemingly defeated. I nodded and turned to the group.
"Get ready to go- we're going to Lilly's place." And I made the call. I tried to pay little mind to Oliver's relief filled and smug frosted tone. I made plenty of threats to emphasize my point and he was back within five minutes. Lilly still hadn't spoken more than a couple words, but I made her get ready for her father. My tank top was shorter than the others that I owned, so when firm, artistic hands came in front of my toned stomach, it rose even more.
Jake's chin rested atop my head and I sighed into him. I wanted to ask a billion questions like, Hey, we almost kissed at that club and now your doing The Titanic position with me, so what the fuck is happening here? But I didn't, due to the problem ahead. When Oliver came, I handed swiss knives to everybody, much to Oliver's disdain. I told him to shut the hell up and that he was lucky I didn't "cut his peanut sized balls off, right here right now".
He shut up.
On the ride over, I dreaded going to see Lilly's dad, as did anybody else who knows him. He was everything I hated.
Snotty.
Egotistic.
Rude.
And was more of a douche than JB himself. When we stepped in, I noticed that Jake and I were the only ones not appropriately dressed. Ahead of me, Mr. Dickenson stood at 6"2 with silver hair and blue eyes. His suit was clearly expensive and I met his scowl with a glare.
"Mr. Dickenson, how's Hell? Is it hot or cold, because I've heard it both ways." I said, with both hands clasped behind my back.
"Ms. Monahan, it is always... interesting seeing you." he said grimly amused.
"Well, I've only met you, like 5 times, and I can't say the same to you. If I never saw you again, it would be too soon." I growled. I was right in front of him now, only a couple heartbeats away.
"Thank you for taking Lilly here, Brent, but your help is no longer needed. You may leave now." My blood boiled; I was NOT his slave or his errand girl or his goddamned tool. He could not treat me this way- if I could see the circling of my eyes, I knew they'd be bright green.
"Well, Harold, I'll be staying near. No way in hell would I leave Lilly alone with your grumpy white ass."
"If you think you will be staying near my little girl, you can get your little whore self and your filthy, moronic friends out of my sight." and then he put a hand on me. It was a firm grip and it was all I needed. If he touched me, I had the right to act accordingly. I pulled my knee back and pressed it to the golden boys, testing to go farther. If anybody saw, it wouldn't look like anything, but it was actually me telling him that I was able to do much more.
"I will be staying near Lilly. Do you have a problem with that?"
"I will not be threatened." he grunted. I pressed harder and smiled sweetly.
"Are you sure about that?" I whisper yelled, then let go. He looked at me for a long time then nodded once.
"So be it. But only because of my daughter's happiness." No thank you's were made. No acknowledgment to his decision.
We said goodbye to Lilly and headed out to our hotel that was paid for via super rich dude. I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach that something bad was going to happen and knew that my friends felt the same. I just hoped that we caught this son of a bitch so Lilly could get away from her crazy ass dad.
