~Lilly~
This year wasn't starting on a good note; but I still had hope. I always had hope. As I walked through the door I stole a glance at Ally. She was wearing an expressionless face, but clearly deep in thought. I wondered what went on in my friend's head, but didn't stay focused on it for long, because standing in our living room was a furious Brent and a tall, good looking brunnette with teal eyes. Brent was yelling mid-sentence, when she spotted us in the door way. I smirked.
"The kids don't like it when mommy and daddy fight." I said with a fake pout, but Brent wasn't amused at my teasing, which I found odd immediatly; she loved it when I got mean. "Bren? Who is this?" I nodded towards Tall Dark And Anti-Social.
"This," she said in a growl through clenched teeth, Oh, crap. Here comes Hulk! I thought to myself. "Is Oliver Reese."
Holy crapola.
No wonder she was so pissed. I was about to let out a huge can of whoopy-butt on this guy!
"Hello, I'm Oliver." he said, attempting to be friendly and putting his left hand forward. I looked at his hand in disgust.
"Who the heck do you think you are, coming in here and being all cheery! I know the stunt you pulled in Brent's class and you're lucky I don't whoop your sorry little booty! You better get out of my house before I get Ally on you!" I yelled, pointing to the door.
"So you're Lilly." he said cautiously. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Yes, so?" I asked, unable to be completely angry. There was always something to love about everybody, and this guy had a lot to love.
"Well, I have a reason for the way I have been acting. And under other circumstances, I would apologize for my behavior. But in this case, I do not have a reason to apologize, for the reason I am here, is because," he took a deep breath, running a hand through his hair. "Because I work for your dad."
No.
What?
Just... no.
"You... you work for Mr. Dickson?" asked a sputtering Ally. I stumbled back as if I had been shoved.
"He's been saying that dumb shit all morning! If you don't get out now, I will either shoot you, or I will call the cops." I cringed at Brent's foul language.
"It's true, I can show you." he pulled out a paper, short and in my father's handwritting. On it, he explained that Oliver did, in fact, work for him to keep an eye on me, but I knew the real reason.
"So he hired you to drive me away from my friends." Oliver ducked his head slightly.
"That's not all of it..." he mumbled so inaudible that I almost didn't catch it.
"Are you kidding? I will... i will..." Brent started, finally kicking the table over, and pacing. Elizabeth and Daniel had now come in, phones at hand. I suspected that Brent had texted them, then realized that Ally's phone was off from work and I had left mine here.
"I'm sorry, guys. I honestly don't hate you. Yes, some of the things I said were true, but I don't hate you guys."
"You son of a-" Brent was cut off by Daniel slapping a hand over her mouth, holding her back.
"Call Jake." he grunted.
"Well, what happens now?" I asked, eyeing Oliver.
"Now, I'm supposed to take you back to your father."
"Why?"
"Because you're step father has broken out of jail."
And I passed out, falling to the floor with a thud.
