~Elizabeth~
I felt numb all over. I saw what was happening around me, but couldn't process it all. I wanted to get up and punch Douche-Mcgee in the face, but Daniel had it covered. Brent was sobbing into Jake's shirt, not stopping since she found Lilly, while Daniel's tears were of pure anger. Ally seemed to be in the same state I was in- shock.
I was so shocked that when I tried to stand up, I just fell to the ground. Oliver had to carry me over here- much to Daniel's dismay- and couldn't set me down without me hyperventilating and having a panic attack.
"Elizabeth?" I heard my name being called. I slowly moved my head towards the voice and tried to focus. It was Brent.
"Huh...?" I managed to croak out in pure despair.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything." She said, though I am unsure how she said anything. She was shaking so hard that Jake was having trouble holding her. Normally, I would argue with her and say that she hasn't done anything wrong, but I knew that it wouldn't get us anywhere and knew exactly how she felt. I felt like I could have done something more- we all did.
"This is the part of the movie where Lilly comes bounding through the door, saying that everything's fine. This is the part where we all come together in a group hug and Lilly just smiles and says something like 'You're all are silly,' or something innocent like that. This is the part where I wake up and this is all one big nightmare." I said. Everybody was silent for a moment, letting that sink in. It was Daniel who spoke first.
"Except this isn't a movie, is it? This is the fucked up reality where everything falls apart and we helplessly try to put the pieces back together. Nothing good happens in reality. No, but this is the part where we find the son of a bitch who killed our best friend and kill them. Fucking torture them..." he said sourly, loosing his train of thought in the idea of murdering whoever did this.
"Lilly wouldn't want you talking like that." Ally said quietly from the corner. This is the first time she has talked.
"Lilly isn't here anymore. Lilly is a happy memory that keeps us fighting for air, but not fresh enough for everything to seem okay. Lilly is the small patch of grass in the winter- we know it will dissapear one day, but we have to watch and wait in pain and sorrow as she slowly leaves us. Lilly is the sunshine that seems to get farther away every day." Brent said bitterly. "And Lilly is the friend we are going to avenge. I'll catch them, Lill. I'll make them suffer..." she got an evil look in her red, teary eyes, making everybody look uncomfortable at her violent words- even Jake.
"Let's go to the hotel- get some rest and then leave tomorrow." Oliver said from behind me. I realized that I was still on his lap, but didn't move. It was selfish, yes, but I needed comfort and he was giving it to me.
"I can't go back there..." said Ally.
"Well, we have to get our bags and car anyway. Even if we leave now, we have to get them. We'll take a cab- none of us are in shape to drive." Daniel spoke with authority.
"I'll get them and meet you all at the back of the hotel." Oliver said. We turned our heads to him, then nodded slowly. Without another word, he lifted me up bridal style and hailed a large cab for us. Brent was huddled into Jakes chest and Ally was being cradled in Daniel's arms. We were just stepping into the cab when a bunch of camera's came our way, catching Daniel's angry attention.
They yelled at us, asking us personal questions about Lilly and flashed their bright cameras in our eyes. The cab sped off and Daniel lifted his fist towards the first guy to come up to us. His fist was just about to make contact with the guy's nose when somebody ran up to us, looking desperate. He was handsome and his beautiful blue eyes widened as he saw us. The breeze ruffled his dark hair, causing it to stick up in tuffs.
"Ally!" he called out. Her head jerked up and her face shone confusion.
"Zander?" she asked sofly and he came over to us. She was now leaning against a lamp post since Daniel was busy about to beat the shit out of some reporters.
"Hey. I heard and came as soon as I could. Do you all need a lift?" He asked, his eyes not leaving Ally's wonder-struck face. An unspoken message passed between Ally and Daniel and she nodded.
"Yeah, we do." she said and we made our way to his large TOYOTA with the reporters following behind. Zander's hand slipped around Ally's thin waist and held her short, curvy figure up.
"This is my friend, Dimitri." he said, introducing us to a dark haired man with bright green eyes, so neon they seemed to be fake.
"I swear, God is fucking with me." Daniel said quietly before flipping off the sky. "WHAT DID I DO IN MY PAST LIFE TO MAKE YOU HATE ME SO FUCKING MUCH?" he asked and Jake and Brent shoved him in the car, telling him to shut the helll up.
The ride from the hospital were, in the words of Brent Monahan "Awkward as balls".
