~Brent~
My train of thought today had been pretty straight forward:
Lilly.
Jake.
Rapist.
Burning hatred for Oliver.
Food.
Not all in that order, but you get the gist of it. My thoughts were directed towards Lilly at the moment, considering she was bounding through the door. Her blonde hair went flying as she ran over to me and tackled me to the ground like a football player, engulfing me in a hug. I was stunned for a moment and simply laid there, tensed up. When I finally got my head out of my ass, I hugged her back. Though my shoulder screamed in pain from the impact, I ignored it.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked, pulling myself and her up to our feet. Everybody was now around us, even Daniel who had recently come in, looking more pissed than usual. But his expression changed as he saw Lilly, instantly lighting up his features.
"I yelled at my dad and told him I wanted to come here." I laughed, but knew her father wouldn't let her come without protection. Checking outside the door, I spotted about six guards and inclined my head towards them. "There's always a catch," I muttered to myself, then turned and grinned at Lilly.
"What do you want to do, now that you're not at Castle Of the Damned?" I asked, unable to keep the snarkiness out of my voice. She didn't hesitate to answer.
"Watch a movie. Romantic comedy?" she asked. Ally nodded, so-so with the idea, while Daniel and Ell nodded vigorously. Oliver simply shrugged and repositioned on the couch. While everybody else seemed fine with the idea, Jake and I groaned- nobody paid any mind to our discomfort.
About twenty minutes into the movie, I couldn't take it anymore and went out to the bedroom balcony, where nobody could see. I was followed by Jake soon after.
"You couldn't take it either?" I asked with a small chuckle; Jake groaned.
"God, I would rather chew my own arm off than watch that shit. And aren't you a girl? Shouldn't you be over there, squealing with the rest of your possy?" I arched a brow at his sexist comment.
"Jake, I think you've known me long enough to know that I'm not like most girls," I retorted with a scoff.
"No, you're not." His eyes bore into mine and he took in every inch of me, making me squirm. I got nervous at the intense expression he wore and wasn't exactly used to people looking at me like that while they were sober and not in clubbing clothes.
"Jake... what's going on with us?" I pondered aloud.
"What do you want to go on with us?" He commented back, taking slow, leaserly steps towards me. My heart rate quickened and I was struggling to remember how to breath, never the less speak.
"I don't date players, Jake. If anything were to happen between us... it would have to stay exclusive. I don't want to deal with- can't deal with- a heartbreak while I'm trying to be there for Lilly." I said, cautiously.
"Brent, I wouldn't want to go out with anybody but you. It's like I've finally woken up and just... see you. I mean, we flirted before, yeah, but nothing was ever going to happen. I knew that, I was too much of a player and you were just so... confident... that nobody could get to you. It took forever for me to finally figure you out and get close to you and I won't give that up for anything." When he finished, I was less then a heartbeat away and the sun was beating down on my pale skin, making it glow. I knew my eyes were bright green around the edges just by glancing at the doors reflection. My fish-tailed-hair had some fly aways due to the breeze in the air. I looked into his beautiful eyes and saw that what he said was true. I wanted to kiss him, but wanted him to make the first move.
"Jake, when did you become such a romantic?" I asked, barely audible.
"I just watched twenty minutes of a romantic comedy. I'm practically a doctor of love now." he said incredulously. I let out a nervous laugh and moved in a little closer so that if we took too deep of a breath then our lips and noses would brush. I took the deepest breath I could and at the slightest brush of our lips, Jake ignored my tease and pulled me to him.
He kissed me with intensity I didn't know he was capable of. I flashed back to the club and gasped as one hand winded down me and found me thigh. He lifted me up and I wrapped my exposed legs around him. He pressed me against the wall and I laughed as we almost knocked over the small metal table out here. He looked down and chuckled, too, not yet setting me down.
"See, doctor of love strikes again," he chuckled out loud and I tossed my head back and laughed. He winded his hands through my hair, and shook it out. It fell around my face like a soft caress. He picked up a lock and I tilted up my chin in shock.
"Your hair is golden at the ends." he mumbled in what sounded like awe.
"Yeah, it does that." I responded, sounding hoarse.
"It's beautiful." he said, looking back up at me. I couldn't help but study his own hair, noticing how the black glistens in the sun, surrounding his beautifully sharp features. His cheek bones were high and his jaw line was hard, making him even more awe-striking. We stood like that for a long while, studying each other, until Elizabeth came out asking if we wanted anything to eat. We were all too shocked to move until Ell smirked.
"Well it's about damn time. The sexual tension between you two has been suffocating me." I was uttered speechless, but Jake had less trouble getting his words out.
"It's a battle strategy. Who needs bombs? Just send Brent and I to war- we'll suffocate them with our super-hot sexual energy." My eyes widened and we all laughed until I realized that I was still straddling him standing up and set my legs down. We took a step apart and went inside, Ell in tow.
That, my friends, was awkward as balls.
