"HOLY SHIT," WERE THE ONLY words Aurora could muster as Glenn dragged her away from the oncoming herd. Daryl took the lead, following Randall and Shane's tracks back towards the farm. There was no doubt that the gunshot they had heard was the cause of the oncoming walkers.
There were a few scenarios that could explain the gunshot, Aurora thought, as she jumped over piles of leaves and dodged low hanging branches.
One: Randall fired this gun that Shane claimed he had, and either it hit one of them, or missed entirely.
Two: Shane or Rick fired the gun in an attempt to kill Randall. It wouldn't be to kill a walker - they were smarter than that.
And three: Shane shot Rick. It was a long shot, and Aurora didn't want to believe it, but she couldn't ignore Shane's psychopathic tendencies and anger issues. They reached the farmhouse in what felt like only a few minutes, and Aurora was praying she would see Rick.
They barged through the doors, and everyone stood up. Lori's arms were folded across her chest, and she looked close to being sick.
"Rick and Shane ain't back?" Daryl asked, examining the room. "We heard a shot."
"Maybe they found Randall," Lori responded, and Aurora stifled a laugh. It wasn't funny in the slightest, but the irony was hilarious.
"We found Randall," she said, "he was a walker."
"And the walker that bit him?" Hershel asked. Glenn shook his head and licked his lips.
"No, the weird thing is, he wasn't bit," he explained, "his neck was broke."
"So he fought back?" Patricia said. Aurora could see everyone struggling to piece together what was happening, her included. Though it was becoming clearer and clearer.
"The thing about Shane and Randall's tracks was they were right on top of each other," Daryl explained, "Shane ain't a tracker, they were together."
"Would you please get out there and find Rick and Shane?" Lori asked. Daryl nodded, and he didn't seem like he, nor Glenn, had any intention of speaking about the herd that was possibly heading towards them.

Aurora felt nauseous. The thought of Rick being killed by Shane was replaying in her head, and she couldn't lose more people. She didn't want to lose more people. She debated, when they stepped outside of the house with Andrea, on insisting that they stay, just in case the walkers double back and come towards them. But she didn't need to say anything.
The walkers were heading right towards them, approaching from the barn. And the fields. They were everywhere.
"Kill the lights, Patricia," Hershel had said after seeing what was happening.
"Maybe they're just passing, like the herd on the highway, maybe we should just go inside." Glenn suggested.
"They'd tear through this place and trample it to dust," Aurora muttered. Daryl agreed.
