chapter 30

Rose's pov

flash back ....

"Hurry hurry it's about to rain, mom is going to yell at us if we got wet" I say running with jack behind me, It was sunny an hour ago and now it looks like it's going to rain, I was playing with jack in the garden near the house

"wait until I catch you" jack said playfully quicken his speed "you turned it into a race" I said chuckling still running, he ran until he reached my side with a huge smile on his face showing his deep dimples that I love, he looked pure like an angel

Jack ran beside me looking at me with so much pure love and I looked back at him removing my focus from the way "ohh.." I was about to yell when I stepped on a rock and was about to fall down but I never did, I never touched the ground, I felt a warm body under me "shhh.." jack hissed with pain, noticing he was the one under me I quickly stood terrified if he was hurt

"am sorry, are you hurt" I said giving him my hand to help him up, he took it with a pained but soft smile

"is that blood, you're hurt!" I said with worry looking at his injured elbow with little blood stains, I took out a scratch bandage I had with me in my little bag "don't move it" I say pointing at the bandage and he smiled at me " don't worry it's nothing" he said still smiling like some idiot who lost the feeling of pain suddenly "why did you do that?" I asked crossing my arms over my chest, am glad he saved me but I hated to see him getting hurt, especially if it's because of me, he looked down for a second and then up straight up into my eyes

"Because am the man and i.. I will always be you're shield.. you're just a little girl Rosie I would never let you get hurt, okay" jack said with confidence taking my hand in his walking us both to my house "okay, thank you" I replied with a  blush "don't am always going to be your knight I promise" jack replied looking back at me with a smile

flash back ends .....

Thinking back of what he said I thought it was a little kid's talking but he proved me wrong, until this day jack always took the pardons away to himself, always wanted me to stay behind him while he took the pain for me, my parent's accident his father's death, my aunt's hunt, everything he took everything on his shoulders without saying a word or complaining, he took a shot for me he risked his life and the last thing he did is smile at me !!
He kept his promise and more, he always did, I don't know what I have done to deserve a man like him to love me and maybe i don't
Tears begin to shed again and I closed my eyes, my eyes hurts also my head mostly my chest, I felt like my heart is being ripped into pieces seeing jack sleeping on a white bed with a breathing tube

 I remembered what happened two days ago .... I was having a nice time with Sam and the girls waiting for jack to finish his talk, it's not that I didn't like talking with them it's just I wanted to be in jack's arms inhaling his husky minty male scent .... Jack's arms were surrendering me, so he finished, I was happy knowing he's going to be with me now .... I was in his arms, his whole body covered me like a shield, suddenly we heard a gun's shoot, turning to face jack I realized he was still shielding me, I looked at his eyes, he looked back with love passion and pain, wait pain? I hugged him not knowing what's going on, everyone was freaking out and running saying it's lila but I didn't give a damn, everything went in a slow motion for me .... Jack softly smiled at me, I removed my hands from his back to see they were covered in blood!! I freaked out, and then I came into my sense, he got shoot for me! I kept calling his name but he didn't reply a second later he was on the ground, I held his hand in mine still calling him, I pegged for him to not leave me, I could hear some voices calling my name, men gathered around us, Chris was the first ... I couldn't leave his hand, Sam tried to pull me away but I kept screaming his name pegging him to stay with me but his eyes were already closed, feeling my body go numb I let myself into darkness, I fainted beside him on the floor not leaving his hand
