Chapter 6: The truth

Several hours later---

Sound of people walking and talking had awoken Nami. She muttered and realized that she had fallen asleep on the floor. She stretched and stood up, looked around and found out it was somebody's room. It was clean and tidy, there was a window near the desk which cover with books and papers. 

Nami felt hungry but after having a fight with Shanks, things looked a bit embarrassing. At the moment, someone knocked the door. It was Yasopp.

"Nami, are you awake? We are going to have dinner, are you coming?"

Nami hesitated and just stood in front of the door. After she threw Shanks all her fury and ran away rudely, she wondered whether it was fine for her to face them now. After all, that was a Yonko...

"Hey, food won't wait for us. People on this ship never have compassion for those who late for meal." Yasopp sighed. 

After some struggle,Nami gave up and checked her look from the mirror before she opened the door and saw Yasopp's kind smile.

"Yasopp! We don't have much food left for you..."

The canteen was full of people, chats and cheers everywhere. It was extremely noisy but when Nami walked in, everyone shut their mouth up. There was an awkward silence. Lucky Roo shut his mouth up and acted quite uncomfortable. 

"Hey Yasopp, Nami! Over here!" Shanks grinned and shouted. 

The voice and the smile of Shanks had broken the silence and everyone back to normal. Yasopp sat next to Rockstar and Lucky Roo, the table only left the seat between Shanks and Beckman. Without a choice, Nami sat down.

"Eh, Nami, I'm sorry that we didn't prepare enough food for you." Shanks rubbed his head, gave Nami an apologetic smile. 

"No, no, is alright. Thank you for thinking of me." 

Nami waved her hands and watched Yasopp and Rockstar having an argument about the last piece of pizza. Beckman ignored them and gave Nami a plate of food. She looked at Beckman surprisingly.

"Beckman you have left some food for Nami? Why don't you left some for me?" Yasopp complained to the second hand of the ship. Beckman ignored him and continued enjoying his smoking. 

"Yeah, Beckman how come you left some food for Nami except me? I am your captain!" Shanks also gave out his complaint.

Nami watched how the Red Hair Pirates acting, somehow reminded her the Straw Hat crews. Luffy steals Usopp and Chopper's food , Zoro and Sanji have a fight on meaningless things again, Robin enjoys her tea and gives a loving smile while watching the others, Brook and Franky discuss things about music and machines... 

Nami never notice how important her crews mean to her, until they have been separated.

"This is so unfair! Right, Nami?... Nami?"

Shanks turned and what he could see was Nami's tear dropping down. 

"What, what is going on?! Is it the food? Taste too bad?!" 

Shanks didn't get used to girl's tear so he panic. The others also slowly panicking due to the endless tears of the young girl.

'"It's, it's nothing. Really, Shanks, thank you for worrying about me." Nami rubbed her eyes and smiled. 

"Just too much pressure in the last few days. I am fine, really."

Shanks returned Nami a gentle smile but his eyes told the others that he didn't believe her words.

After dinner---

Nami walked to the front of the ship lay on the edge of the ship. Looking at the view, Nami somehow understood why Luffy loved sitting at the head of Sunny. The breeze was so comfortable, you could smell the sea and the wind. All you could see was the ocean without an end, just liked your adventure would never come to an end. 

The most important is, the feeling of freedom. Nami looked upon the starry sky, and closed her eyes.

"I wonder how are the others?"

Nami knew there was nothing she could do already but the problem was either returned to Weatheria or headed to their Sabaody. It was impossible for her to stay with the Red Hair Pirates. Of course, they won't let her stay, too.

When Nami was thinking about her decision, she heard some noises from somewhere. Someone was...moaning. Nami knew she should stay out of this but this time her curiosity took in charge. She followed the sound and passed through doors by doors, turning left and right many times. 

Finally, she believed that she had found the room with slight moaning coming out. She waited and confirmed no one around, sneaked to the room. She entered the room and heard someone's conversation. She hid behind a large and tall bookcase, tried to listen the conversation.

"...It is impossible...he had lost too much blood..."

"We can do it... we can...then the surgery..."

"It is too risky...he could die... there must be someway else..."

"We don't have time! Both of them... we only have few hours left..."

Nami couldn't hear their conversation clearly but she knew something very important was going on. Something she had been kept away by Shanks and the others. Suddenly, a familiar voice spoke.

"How is it going? Is everything alright?"

"Captain, it is impossible. We can't do it."

"Doctor, We don't have much time left, we need to take action as soon as possible..."

It was Shanks. Nami thought. What are they talking about?

"The wounds are too big and their hearts are barely beating... there is no way to save them!"

"Doctor, I don't believe *impossible", what I believe is people's faith of surviving . I know they can do it."

Shanks had been irritated by the doctor and the air became annoyed. 

"I can't just let them died in front of me! We have to save them!" Shanks yelled. 

"Shanks, clam down." Beckman spoke quietly. Shanks tried to conceal his inpatient.

"Captain! There is no way to save Fire Fist and Whitebeard! They are half dead already!"

Nami was completely shocked.

The conversation continued but Nami could no longer stayed at there. She left the room quietly and ran back to her room. When Nami heard the name Fire Fist, she thought she was dreaming. Shanks told her that Ace was dead, and now? And what about Whitebeard? What was Shanks planning at? 

Nami felt her headache was getting serious. She sat on the bed, released a soft but painful moan.

"...What is going on?"
