Chapter 38: Mother

Nami groaned when her butt hit the ground hard, her head was still dizzy from several time travel in such short time. She rubbed her temple and hoped to ease some of the dizziness, looked around and spotted an unconscious kid not too far away from her.

She sighed and walked to him, slowly shook his awake. "Ace? Are you alright?"

Ace groaned slightly and shook his head, his first time travel's dizziness was far more serious than Nami. The lady waited patiently for him and checked around their surroundings, knew they had arrived the accurate timeline.

"What the hell you are doing...?" Ace muttered painfully and stood up with shaking legs.

Suddenly being hugged by a strange man, and suddenly being dragged by this woman into the bright light, what the hell was going on now?

"Hey, woman! You better explain what you are planning-"

Nami covered Ace's mouth and dragged him to hide behind some high brushwood, silenced him immediately. She threw him a warning glance and signaled his to be quiet, pointed at the Marine standing where they were moments ago.

Ace widened his eyes to the Marine, shocked and confused. There wasn't any Marine located in the Foosha Village...!

"What is going on?" He asked quietly, knew something was wrong.

Nami shook her head and put her finger on her lip, motioned him to be quiet and listened to the conversation between the Marine.

"How long we have to stay here? I'm tired already and really want go home."

"Shut up! Don't let the other hear that! The Headquarter is still quite nervous about the rumors."

"Come on, it's almost 2 years already. So far we find nothing from those women. I guess the Headquarter will soon give out the order of retreat."

"Even so, watch your tongue. Who knows what the bosses are thinking..."

"Anyway, I'm glad my wife doesn't live around the South Blue. Otherwise it will be a disaster."

"Your wife is going to give birth soon I remember? Congratulation."

"Yeah. I really want to go back before she gives birth. Let's hope this business can finish soon."

Nami watched the Marine left and waited for a few more minutes before she came out from the brushwood. Based on that conversation, now she was 100% sure they came to the right timeline.

Ace followed behind Nami and crossed his arms, looked at her furiously. "Hey Woman!"

"I have a name, Mina. Learn some manner kid, you will need it." Nami sighed tiredly and flicked his forehead, knew the polite and mature impression of Ace during their first meet was a lie.

"Don't touch me! Where are we and what the hell we are doing here?!" Ace asked impatiently.

Nami gave him a side glance and crossed her arms, leaned on a tree. "You sure you want to know the truth?"

"Just spill it now!"

"We travel to another world and timeline, make it simple a time travel. Now we are in South Blue and I need to find something. Get it?"

Ace's dumbfounded face told Nami the answer very clearly. She sighed and rubbed her hair, held Ace's hand and dragged him to the direction where the Marine left.

"No matter what, stick with me and don't expose your identity and mine as well. Marine in this world is insane." Nami muttered and quickened her pace.
