Chapter 8: Life with the Red Hair Pirates

Outside the operation room---

After being pushed out by Nami, Shanks couldn't calm down and wandering around the small area of the corridor. 

"Don't worry. Nami said she could save their life, just have fate on her and sat down."

Shanks's wandering had made Beckman's headache more serious. He sighed and took a new cigarette. 

"I know I know but I just can't sit down and wait!" Even through Shanks said so, he sat down and waited.

Eight hours later---

Shanks has never been so anxious, even the days with Gol.D.Roger. He had the thought of opened the door for several times but Beckman would glared at him and pulled him away. When Beckman could no longer tolerate Shanks' annoyance, ready to get his pistol and gave his captain a great shot, the door opened. The doctor came out with tiring eyes.

"Doctor! How is the surgery?"

Shanks rushed to the doctor and asked. The doctor didn't say a word. 

"What? Tell me doctor!" 

Shanks couldn't wait for the answer already. The doctor took a deep breath, and gave them a big grin slowly, tears in his eyes.

"We make it, they are alive!"

Shanks gave the doctor a bear hug and went into the room. Everyone inside were exhausted but happy. They have challenged the death and got their victory.

"Well done, everyone! Time to celebrate! Go to prepare for the banquet!"

Everyone cheered for themselves and went to prepare for the banquet. Shanks went to Ace and Whitebeard, saw their wound had been greatly treated. He turned around and saw Nami sitting on the floor, placed her head on Whitebeard's bed.

"Nami! Are you alright?" Shanks ran to Nami and placed her head on his shoulder. 

Nami opened her eyes slowly, gave Shanks a smile. "I told you, I can challenge the death."

Shanks returned her a laugh. "You did a great job, Nami. Thank you."

After the surgery, Shanks sent Nami back to her room to take a rest. After all, she just completed a very risky and impossible operation. Shanks went to the canteen and saw everyone celebrating for their victory. 

"Captain! There you are! Come and join us!" Yasopp shouted. Shanks grinned and got his beer and began their banquet.

Next morning---

When Nami went to the canteen and planned to have her breakfast, a very strong sense of beer and meat rushed to her and she almost couldn't breath. 

"What is going on?!"

Red Hair Pirates slept on the ground and tables, empty bottles everywhere. It was just a mess inside the canteen. Nami have heard about how much Red Hair Pirates love holding banquet but she never expect it would be such... a disaster.

"Men...they are the creature who good at make a mess." Nami sighed and tried not to wake anyone. 

She sneaked into the kitchen and ready to cook herself breakfast. Soon, the smell of bacon and fried egg have awaken Shanks and the others.

"Hmmm... morning already?" Shanks yawned and rubbed his hair. 

Lucky Roo stood up immediately and followed the sense of food. "Mmm... it smells good." 

Beckman lit up his cigarette and opened the door, letting the sunshine filled into the room.

"Oh, so you guys have woke up finally?" Nami holding her breakfast and smile. Lucky Roo walked to Nami, starring at her dish and mouth watering.
