Chapter 34: Changing world

Laxus watched Nami avoiding and blocking all the lightening he stroked toward her quickly. He nodded in approval when Nami managed to speed up along with his power, slowly adding more force into his attack.

"Faster!" Laxus yelled and watched Nami avoiding his attack quicker with his order.

After the great battle in Wano Kingdom, Laxus had been training Nami's power and battle skills. Since most of them were seriously wounded and required a long time to completely recover, everyone took their time in the Wano Kingdom to heal their wounds.

Nami's wounds got healed better and faster than all her crews, her speed of recovery had surprised everyone, including the Fairy Tail members. However, only the navigator herself knew her recovery mostly due to the sudden changes of her dragon power. She went to ask for Laxus's help about her power, hoping he might able to answer all the strangeness happened on her.

However, even the Lightening Dragon Slayer couldn't figure out the reason for her strangeness. He could sense her power was increasing in an unbelievable speed and the quality of her power even turned better than most of the Dragon Slayer.

The peculiar changes of Nami rang an alarm to the Fairy Tail members, especially they all knew how unstable the power inside the girl's body was. Immediately, the group divided into two. While Gildarts and Lucy who was the only one managed to open the gates between the two worlds, returned to their world and reported the whole incident to Makarov, the rest would stay behind in case anything happened.

It had been a week since Gildarts and Lucy left already. Everyone managed to find something to do during their wait. Erza and Gajeel went to help the citizen to rebuild their hometown; Wendy joined the doctors to heal the patients; Natsu and Grey went to purify the land by their power, hoping their power able to reduce some of the poisoned land and water.

Nami screamed when she didn't manage to block one of the lightening from behind, being stroked down and fell on the ground. She spit out the dirt she accidentally ate and ripped off the sweat rolling on her forehead.

Although the lightening wasn't powerful enough to kill someone, still being stroked by it would make a person's body turned numb and unable to move. Nami gasped when the blood began to flow in her again and sent sharp pain to her body.

"I think you have enough warm up already. Let's move to the practice." Laxus pulled her up and said.

Nami paled to his words and frowned unwillingly, rubbed her neck hesitantly. Laxus frowned to her expression and crossed his arms. "Now."

Nami sighed in defeat and moved to the spot unwillingly, stood straight. She took a deep breath and activated her dragon power, soon she was surrounded with bright lightening.

Laxus activated his power right after Nami, both sides' power clashed together and the air was vibrating. Next, both disappeared from their spots with a blink and bright lightening clashes appeared in the air. Strong wind blew all over the area from the clashes and lift up the dust.

With each minute passed, Nami slowly felt the familiar heat rose from her heart and running into her blood. She gritted her teeth and let that heat took control of her carefully, parts of her body quickly transformed into dragon part. Nami needed to use all her will power to control that peculiar feeling, in order not letting her dragon instinct took complete control over her.

Laxus watched Nami's transformation worriedly, ready for anything happened. Nami had transformed into half dragon form liked rest of the Dragon Slayer did before, but Laxus knew how unstable and powerful her dragon power was. Just off her guard for one second could lead to catastrophe.
