Chapter 18: Training for the future

"Laxus, please?" Nami looked at the man who crossed his legs on the table, taking his nap.

"..."

"Come on Laxus? Please~?" Nami gave Laxus puppy eyes but he ignored it.

"I hate weaklings, give up."

"Just give me a chance, Laxus~" Nami started to shake his hand.

"Shut up."

Haredas sat aside, looked at the two and chuckled. It had been few days Nami begged Laxus for training her. Every time Nami begged Laxus, the man would ignored her or asked her to shut up. Seriously Haredas started to feel pity for Nami.

"Geez, why he just won't say yes?!"

Nami threw herself on the chair, pouting. Haredas looked at Laxus who had fallen asleep and Nami who was complaining, shook his head and smiled.

"You know him. He won't say yes that easily." 

Haredas poured a cup of tea to Nami, then to himself. Nami emptied the tea immediately, still mad.

"How can he refuse such a lovely girl like me?! Haredas I have spent too many days on him, there is no time for me to waste already!"

"Then why don't you give up, girl?" Haredas drank his tea and looked at the angry girl.

"If I can learn his power, it will be a powerful weapon for the future battles!" Nami placed her head on the table, muttered.

"I understand you purpose is for good but what would he think? As we have told him that his power is a threat to the world and to himself. Maybe that's the reason why he reject you?"

 Haredas tried to comfort Nami but she didn't answer, just laid her head on the table. Haredas knew she didn't have the mood to continue their conversation, he just patted her head and left the room for her.

After spending some time to recover, Nami went to wash her face and decided to have a walk, to clear her mind. Checking the calendar and counting the days for reuniting her crews in Sabondy had become a routine. 

Although she never admit to anyone, in fact she really miss her friends very much. Nami really wished that she could become stronger before they reunited and started their journey to the New World.

After Whitebeard and Shanks showed her the power of Yonko, she knew they were not ready to conquer the New World yet. They won't stand a chance in New World with their current power. Therefore, she must improve herself, as a navigator and a fighter. And Laxus, is no doubt the best teacher for training her now. 

When she was on her mind, she didn't realize she went to the bubble tree that Laxus always stayed at. She sat under the tree and laid her back on the tree, sighed.

"How should I persuade him to train me?" Nami said frustratingly and crossed her legs. 

She looked at the bubble upon her, counting the bubble. When she was counting the bubble, Nami felt her eyelashes became heavier and more. When she opened her eyes again, it was already sunset.

"Ah, I have fallen asleep?" Nami yawned and rubbed her eyes.

"You sleep like a pig."

"Oh really...?"

"?!"

Nami turned her head to the trunk upon her immediately and saw Laxus sitting at his usual spot.

"Laxus?! When did you-"

"About ten minutes ago. You said something really interesting." Laxus looked at Nami playfully.
