~~~{Brittany's P.O.V}~~~
                              We drove up to the abandoned pool club the police told us they were being kept.
                              Of course, we weren't alone. One officer was in our minivan, and four other officers were in a hidden police car.
                              I smiled, knowing nothing bad would happen to us, but then I shivered, remembering the horrible things Ty had done to me.
                              I wondered, for the millionth time, if this was a trap.
                              "Brittany, you coming?" Mitch asked. I nodded and softly replied, "Of course."
                              We walked up to the door of the pool club, the one officer's boots and bulletproof material making really loud noises.
                              Jerome to open the door, but it was locked. He tried to ram his shoulder into the door to open it, but the door wouldn't budge.
                              "Here, let me." The officer told us, walking up to the door. She rammed a broad shoulder, complete with bulletproof material underneath her everyday clothes, into the door, and the door fell open.
                              All of my friends' mouths dropped open.
                              The officer smiled. "Did you think I was that weak? Plus, bulletproof vests block most of the pain." Jerome winced and rubbed his shoulder.
                              "Let's go in, but I don't want any of you to say a thing." She walked in, taking the lead as everyone else filed in behind her. The other four officers were to stay behind and come get us in case of trouble.
                              It was dark inside. Since the door was, well, open, some light filtered in. It wasn't enough light to see by.
                              "Put on these," the officer whispered, handing everyone else goggles. I consented and stared at my surroundings. I realized they were night-vision goggles.
                              I suddenly had the strangest feeling, in the pit of my stomach, that something would go wrong. I didn't speak because the officer had told us not to, but it didn't help the feeling go away.
                              The officer must have seen a light switch because she started heading for a wall. We followed her, and we started hearing faint voices coming from the door of an office nearby. The police officer didn't turn the light on. Instead, she listened to the voices.
                              "Where did they go?!" A man was asking.
                              "I don't know!" Another man said, and I recognized him, with a jolt, as Ty.
                              "You were in charge of Alia and that other girl!" The first one said. Lily opened her mouth wide, as if she were about to scream, but I clamped a hand over her mouth.
                              When I had taken my hand away, Lily whispered to everyone, "That's my boyfriend, Brian!"
                              The police officer nodded grimly as if this were an everyday occurrence. Which, I supposed, it might be.
                              "Maybe they're hiding somewhere in here." Brian suggested.
                              Ty scoffed, but he got up, making a lot of noise in the process, and started making his way to the door.
                              "Quick!" I hissed, walking and running away from the light switch, which was in plain sight of the office door. "They're coming out!"
                              Everyone started following me, but the office door opened with a bang! and Ty looked around from the door. I realized he had a gun.
                              He started firing wildly, and I heard an obviously masculine scream from right next to me. I looked over at the screamer, realizing he was Jerome, and stared at him in panic as he fell to the ground, clutching his shoulder. Blood was starting to trickle out from between his fingers.
                              "Jerome!" I shouted.
                              Ty stopped, probably to reload, and the officer that accompanied us opened fire.
                              None of the bullets hit their mark, but they forced Ty to shield his face with a hand ---like that would help--- and Ty fell on the floor, banging his head hard. He spasmed once, but then was still.
                              Brian stepped over Ty's unconscious figure and peered out into the half-darkness. The officer fired once at Brian and Brian dropped to the floor, a bullet buried in his head. She started walking towards their unconscious forms.
                              Lily pressed a hand to her mouth, horrified as her now ex-boyfriend was killed in front of her eyes.
                              Meanwhile, I was frozen in shock. Then I remembered Jerome.
                              "Jerome's hurt!" I yelled.
                              The officer whirled back around to face me. Seeing Jerome, she spoke into a radio-thing in a low voice. In seconds, four officers were at the door, walking in, picking up Jerome, and walking out. I hoped the fifth one was calling an ambulance.
                              The officer's eyes were mournful as she said, "There aren't any captives here....we went here all for nothing. Let's leave." She walked toward the broken door.
                              I stared at her in shock of a moment. Then I ran up to her and caught her wrist, spinning her around.
                              In an instant, her hand was at her belt, reaching for her gun, but I said, "You've never told us your name."
                              She smiled grimly. "It's Lucy."
                              (Hai Lucy!)
