Chapter 29 ~ Butterflies

~~~{Destiny's P.O.V}~~~

Ring! Ring!

My phone interrupted my breakfast. I reluctantly pushed away my cereal (Lucky Charms) and answered it.

"Who is this?"

"This is Heather."

"Oh, hi."

"I was wondering if you would want to go trail riding today?"

"Riding what?"

"Riding horses."

"Oh. When would this be?"

"In about half an hour."

"I've never ridden a horse before. I don't even have the right clothes."

"I could teach you! You could borrow my clothes."

"Will anyone else come?"

"No."

"Who will watch Lily, though?"

"Jason said he could."

"I don't really trust him..."

"I think they'll be fine. Besides, they might really bond. I'll call him right after this phone call."

"Okay... I'll ride with you."

"When can you come over?"

"What?"

"Is coming over in half an hour sound okay to you? I need to teach you how to saddle the horses and everything, actually teach you to ride, and you can change into some of my riding clothes."

"Sure! I would love to! I'll come over as soon as I finish my breakfast."

"See you!"

"See you."

I hung up, excited that I could ride a horse and have some bonding time with Heather.

I finished the rest of my breakfast in a couple large gulps and walked into Lily's room. Lily was drawing a simple butterfly on her wrist.

"Why are you drawing a butterfly on your wrist?" I asked stupidly.

"I'm doing the butterfly challenge." Lily answered simply.

"Oooookay...."

"I've got to go now. Heather's taking me trail riding."

I had updated Lily every day since she got back from the hospital, and she was content to listen.

"Heather says Jason will watch you for a while."

She looked at me weirdly, but then she just shrugged and kept drawing the butterfly on her wrist.

"I'll be back later."

"Bye, Kawaii. Have fun." Lily said flatly.

I walked out of her room and into mine. Flopping on my bed, I picked up my phone and Googled "what's the butterfly challenge?"

The results were not good. Not good at all.
