I was driving to the grocery store when I saw a girl on the edge of the bridge, on top of the railing, her hair whipping around her face in the wind. For a moment, I was confused as to why she would do that, but then I realized what she was doing. She's committing suicide!

I ran out of my car and tried to get through the cars to get to her. She glanced back once, and I realized she was Destiny. The sister I never had.

I love Destiny so much. As a sister, of course.

My eyes rounded in fear as I realized I wouldn't get to her in time. She tensed her legs, ready to jump, and I hesitated.

I ran up to her a couple seconds later, free from the turmoil of the traffic, but I couldn't get her down without hurting her badly.

"NO!" I shouted, but it was lost in the wind. "DESTINY!" I yelled again, louder. She didn't do anything. Then she jumped off the bridge, tucking into a ball for a couple seconds until she let her body catch the wind and stared up at the sky.

She was still staring at the sky when she crashed into the roaring waves, her eyes closing at the last moment and her hands clutching her chest.

I leaped up to the railing myself and peered down into the ocean. Destiny's body was visible among the thrashing waves for a moment, but it dissapeared, only to reappear a second later.

I jumped off the bridge myself, my only thoughts thoughts of saving Destiny.

It was only when I was in the air, flying toward the churning waters, when I realized this might not be a good idea.

I plunged into the freezing water, holding my breath and fighting to get to the surface. Just when I felt like my lungs would burst, I reached the surface, and I took a few grateful breaths.

I looked around for Destiny. Where is she?

Is she dead already?

Doggy paddling, I looked around for her, and finally spotted her floating lifelessly nearby. I took a few string strokes towards her and pulled her onto my shoulder. She was as light as a feather, but I assumed she was that way because it was the water making her light. I refused to consider that she was light because she was dead. She must only be unconscious. She has to be. There's no way she could be dead.

I swam toward the shore, thinking about what I would do when I got onto land. I would probably ask a pedestrian on the bridge if I could use their phone. Fortunately, I had left my phone at the house, so it didn't get ruined.

No. Fuck that. I would steal their phone and call the ambulance.

"Excuse me? Are you okay?" I heard a feminine voice ask. I looked up and saw I was right in front of a dock. On top of that dock was a pretty girl. She looked to be about eighteen, and she held a phone to her ear like she was talking to someone while she paced.

After she offered her hand to help me onto the hard wood (that sounded soooo wrong) I answered, "I need to use your phone!"

I pulled Destinyout of the water and I held her in my arms. She was still as light as a feather, even with her long hair sopping wet.

It must not have been the water making her light.

She blinked at me, confused, but said all the same into her phone, "Sorry, Sasha. I'll have to call you back about our riding lesson another time. Gotta go."
