Hey everyone, Annelise here. Here's a quick thank-you to QueenOfMonsters for spamming me with votes. Much love! (Sorry if I didn't shoutout you other people for spamming me with votes. I'm just starting now, so...)

And I'm putting Always on hold until I finish this book. Sorry people. And Ray, I'm pretty sure you'll be coming in the next chapter.

So, I'm in the car right now, driving back to my house. I only have an hour to write (then my sister uses my iPad D:), so I won't make this A/N any longer than it needs to be. This chapter might be pretty long, though.

I carefully applied the last touch of silver glitter over the red, white, and blue on my eyelids. Today was the Fourth of July, a very big holiday in the USA. I was going down to a boardwalk with Charlie, Heather, Alia and all of the guys (including Mitch) to watch the fireworks on the ocean and maybe check out some shops.

My lipstick, gold with white around the edges, was already done, so I picked up my matching gold purse and headed outside. I was wearing simple black flats, a frilly green lowish top, and medium-length jean shorts. I left my hair slightly curled and loose. I tried to be a little fancy, but not very much, because I might have to walk for a while to get good seating to watch the fireworks.

I spotted Alia's car on the asphalt, so I did that awkward half-walk-half-run-thing to her car and claimed shotgun. Heather and Charlie were in the back seats. I was mildly surprised to see that Heather had done her makeup perfectly.

"Ready?" Alia asked. I nodded, a little excited. We shot off and I rolled down the window a little, letting my hair tumble around my shoulders from the wind blowing in. (Is it just me or do I feel a little better at writing? Idk)

"You look really nice," Heather noted. I turned around to see Heather smiling at me.

"Thanks," I answered, blushing a little. "You look great too."

Heather did look good, but not quite as fancy as I was. She was wearing a white tank top that was slightly visible under a see-through red shirt that stopped at her belly button. She was wearing sky blue shorts.

Heather smiled, opening her mouth to say something, but Alia, still concentrating on the road, interrupted her.

"Are you excited?" Alia asked.

"Yeah...," I replied, slightly confused. It was just the Fourth of July. Other than the fireworks, what was to be excited about?

"Alia!" Charlie scolded.

"Oh. Whoops." Alia looked slightly embarrassed as she lowered her head, watching me out of the corner of her eye.

Charlie cleared her throat. "Destiny, are you planning on buying anything?" She asked, a little too loud.

"Oh...uh, maybe if anything catches my eye," I responded, feeling alienated by my friends. What's going on?

"I'm looking for anything yellow. I don't have many yellow things!" Alia exclaimed in a too-cheerful voice.

Now I was starting to get creeped out by my friends. "Oooo-kaaaay," I said, frowning a little.

The car was silent for the rest of the ride.

"Destiny, we're here!" Charlie said, slightly shaking me. "Nice eye makeup, by the way."

I groaned and opened my eyes. I spotted Jerome and Adam outside, so I opened my car door eagerly and leaped out.

"Hi guys!" I yelled, carefully hugging Jerome and then Adam, trying not to wrinkle my clothes more than they already were.
