Chapter 27 ~ Heaven

Short chapter.

~~~{Destiny's P.O.V}~~~

I threw open the doors of the hospital and yelled, "WHERE IS SHE?!"

Everyone stared at me, but I didn't care. There were only a couple people there, anyway. Visiting hours started a couple minutes ago, so I was late.

I ran up to the front desk and asked more calmly, "Where is Lily Assen?"

"Room 450." The lady at the front desk replied, without hesitating or looking at the log. Do they memorize these things?

I sprinted up the stairs, taking two at a time, until I reached the third floor. I sprinted to the end of the hallway, where Lily's room was last.

I walked inside her door cautiously, afraid of what I was about to see.

There was no one in the room except Lily. She was very pale and small inside her bed.

"Lily?" I whispered, walking right next to her bed. Is she dead?

Lily opened her eyes and stretched. "Brian?" She whispered.

"No, it's me. Destiny. You sister. Remember?" I was afraid to breathe.

"Oh..."

Lily looked truly disappointed.

"Why would there be Brian here?" I asked. I already knew why, but I had to get Lily talking.

"I thought I was dead...I thought I was finally in heaven," she answered quietly.

"Why would you think you were dead?" I asked, pulling up a chair next to my sister's bed and sitting down in it.

"I tried to commit suicide," she said, her words choked.

"It's okay," I whispered, taking my sister's hand as she fell back into sleep's warm embrace again. "Have sweet dreams, my beautiful sister."

And we stayed that way as I fell asleep right in the chair. It was many hours later that I finally left.
