Family. We may be an elite group of cold blooded murderers, but we treat each other as family. I told Ruri na trabaho ko ang pagiging assassin dahil malaki ang pera na nakukuha ko, but that is not the entire story.
I accepted this job because I want to be part of this organization. I don't need money as my father is already wealthy enough. Hanggang ngayon, I have no regrets when I became an assassin.
Once a year, we are being summoned for a get together event. This time, this event is held in a luxurious resort in Batangas.
Big Boss is our employer. We treat him as our father in our family. Big daddy ang tawag ng iba sa kanya. Wala kaming alam about kay Big Boss. We haven't seen his face, but we know that he cares for all of us.
He is contacting us via video call, pero blurred ang face niya. We can hear his real voice, but that's it. Everything about Big Boss is shrouded in mystery.
Ang right hand niya na si Ichiro ang madalas na nakikipag coordinate sa amin.
"I am happy to announce that this resort is recently acquired by our Big Boss. His children are always welcome here," sabi ni Ichiro habang nasa meeting hall kami.
We may be killers, but we are like kids during this event. All of us are excited to talk to our Big Boss. Para kaming mga bata na hinihintay ang pagkakataon na makausap siya. He knows each and everyone of us at he call us his children. All of the assassins that he hired are all orphans and he serves as a father to all of us.
"He wants to congratulate each and everyone of you for a job well done. As expected, you can choose any car of your liking as a gift," dagdag ni Ichiro.
Money is not an issue with Big Boss. We think that he is a wealthy businessman or a powerful politician. He knows several languages, but I know that he is a Japanese national due to his accent. He is smart and full of wisdom. We don't know much about him, but we will do anything for him.
Bumukas ang video screen at lumabas ang blurred mukha ni Big Boss. Kinamusta niya ang bawat isa at personal na pinuri sa mga accomplishments namin. He knows us by name, but I frowned when he did not call my name.
"There is another reason why you are all here. I need to ask all you a big favor," sabi ni Big Boss sa screen.
"My children, I want to pull out Rafael Stalford from any of your mission starting today. It is a temporary assignment, but I want to ask all of your permission before proceeding with my request," dagdag ni Big Boss.
"But Big Boss, Rafael is an outstanding asset. Aside from Ichiro, he is our resident computer genius and our best sniper. Our operation will be paralyzed without him," sabi ng isang colleague ko.
"Ichiro is already training Kaizer, our hacker from Boston. He may be a teenager, but he has a lot of potential. He will serve as Rafael's replacement for the mean time. However, this is a personal favor. I would like to first ask the permission of Rafael as this is a child's play mission."
"Anything, Big Boss. Just tell me what to do, I will do it. I can even be your personal chef and driver if you want me to," mabilis kong sagot as I smiled at him.
Even all of my colleagues just smiled and nodded. Ngayon lang humingi ng personal favor si Big Boss kaya wala kaming karapatan na tanggihan siya. It is an honor to be chosen by him.
"Rafael, starting today, I want you to look after someone. Just carry on with your daytime job, but make sure that you have visibility to your new target," sabi ni Big Boss.
"Look after someone? Big Boss, do you mean baby sit someone? Is this a high value target?" tanong ko sa kanya.
"A high value target for me as she is my daughter."
Daughter? May anak si Big Boss? Sabi ni Ichiro, wala daw pamilya ang lalaking ito. Paano nangyari na may daughter siya?
Akala ko tapos na ang pagkabigla ko, pero biglang lumabas ang mukha ng isang babae sa screen. It is no other than Ruri Rosalind Saji.
"It is a temporary job, Rafael. Of course you can go back to your mission afterwards. What do you think about my request?" tanong ni Big Boss sa akin, but I was tongue tied.
I can't believe that Ruri is the daughter of our Big Boss. Worse, I threatened to kill his daughter. Worst, I asked this woman to be my fuck buddy and I took away her innocence.
Kaya ba friendly si Ichiro kay Ruri? Did he intentionally visit me para malaman kung anong relasyon namin ni Ruri?
Wala akong choice but to say yes to his request...
