Chapter 44 - Parachute

Ichiro confirmed that a system glitch is rare, unless someone intentionally messed up with the power supply. He is confident na system glitch lang ang nangyari pero as expected, Ichiro is always careful.

"Wag mo ko iiwan, magagalit talaga ako sayo," sigaw sa akin ni Ruri habang inaayos ko ang isang silencer gun.

Sasagot pa sana ako pero biglang nag flash ng warning message ang computer. There are currently no network connection available. This is impossible as we have several network connection source. I tried to contact Ichiro, but I can't call him. The telephone lines are cut off. I used the available military walkie talkie at sinagot naman ito ni Ichiro.

"Damn it! What's happening?" sigaw ko sa kanya sa radio.

"Someone is jamming our network signals. This is clearly a sabotage. It will take two hours before Hunter and Veronika to arrive here," sagot ni Ichiro sa akin.

"Who knows about this place?"

"No one, just me and..."

"And who? Who knows that Big Boss is living here?"

"Levine knows this place. Big Boss treated him as his son, his personal favorite."

If our instinct is right, Veronika and Hunter are following decoy vans. Levine will surely attack this place. Hindi ko alam kung anong reason niya, but it must be his psychopath self who is taking over now.

Based from my calculations, it took us roughly ten minutes to reach this mansion from the main gate. Sigurado ako na may precautions si Ichiro in case someone will force to go inside the property.

"Rafael, the safest place for Ruri is to stay there. However, the two of us needs to deal with this incoming storm. Meet me on the third floor. Bring your toys," sabi ni Ichiro sa radio before ending our communication.

"No, no, no, Rafael. You can't leave me here," sabi ni Ruri sabay kuha ng isang silencer sa table.

"Really? You are going to shoot people now?" natatawa ko pa rin na sagot sa kanya.

"Di mo ko pwede iwan dito. Sasama ako sayo whether you like it or not."

"Tama si Hunter, you will be the end of me. Ang tigas ang ulo mo," natatawa kong sagot sa kanya as I took her hand.

Mabilis kaming umakyat sa third floor at nagulat si Ichiro nang makita si Ruri na kasama ko. Somehow, he must have already realized na matigas ang ulo ng anak ni Big Boss. He us a bulletproof vest for our protection.

"Someone already manually override the gate. They will be here in a few minutes. Without any network connection, we don't have visibility with our enemies," sabi ni Ichiro na kalmadong nakatingin sa bintana.

"How is this possible Ichiro? We missed something big time."

"I underestimated Levine and I became overconfident with the abilities of my so-called friends. That is on me."

"Ichi, si Levine ba ang pupunta dito? Ano bang gusto niya? Gusto ba niya patayin ako or ang tatay ko?"

"I don't really know Ruri. I don't know what the hell he is thinking," sagot ni Ichiro kay Ruri.

Most of our recent missions are related to stopping a terrorist attack. I have a feeling na alam na ni Big Boss ang connection ni Levine sa mga terrorist group. Big Boss must have crippled Levine's operation.

Levine is not here for revenge, but he thinks that Big Boss is a nuisance to his plans. He probably thinks na sagabal si Big Boss at si Ichiro sa lahat ng plano niya. He is just here to remove these annoying chess pieces that serve as a blockage to his goals.

I used a high powered and long distance binoculars and I was able to see one black sports car approaching the mansion. Pagtingin ko kay Ichiro, he is already preparing to launch a missile that will immobilize the sports car. Without any warning, Ichiro fired several missiles pero mabilis na nakaiwas ang sports car.

"Thermal and pressure sensors. That man is a genius," sabi ni Ichiro as he shook his head.

Several missiles were fired, pero mabilis itong naiwasan ng black sports car. Tumigil ang black tinted sports car sa tapat mismo ng mansion.

Ichiro is already prepared with his sniper gun, pero walang kahit sinong tao na lumalabas. It is a two seater sports car. Levine must be alone.

Biglang tumunog ang radio phone ni Ichiro and we are all astounded when we heard Levine's voice. Ruri gasped as she can't believe that she is hearing Jairon's voice.

"Ichiro, just give me Big Boss and I will leave peacefully," sabi ni Levine sa radio phone.

"You know that I can't do that, Levine."

"Come on big brother, just give me the old man so I can kill him. I promise that I will make it quick. If you will not comply, I have no choice but to drop a bomb in this place, Tsar Bomba style," he said while laughing.

"He's not here," sabi ni Ichiro sa radio.

He motioned us to go outside the room at bumaba sa underground facility. If Levine's threat is real, we won't be able to survive the blast.

"Oh really? That's disappointing, but I guess you are enough. Big Boss trusted you so much that he even showed his face to you. All he can show me is his house, but he never bothered to introduce himself to me," sabi ni Levine sa radio.

"Rafael, there is an underground tunnel that connects to a safe house just across the lake. You can use it to escape. Ruri needs to be safe," sabi ni Ichiro habang dahan dahan kami bumababa ng hagdan.

"No, Ichi. Hindi ka namin iiwan. You heard Levine, he will blow this place up. We need to escape now," nakikiusap na sabi ni Ruri.

Pagbaba namin sa ground floor, napansin ko sa malayong bahagi ng grass lawn ang isang black parachute Nylon fabric. Bago pa ko makapag react, pinaulanan na kami ni Levine ng bala. Good thing, I was able to pulled Ruri away from his line of sight.

"Rafael, akala ko ba hindi siya bumaba sa kotse? May kasama ba siya?" nag-aalalang tanong ni Ruri habang nagtatago kami sa hagdanan.

"The car is probably remotely operated. He used the parachute to get inside the property. Without any visibility with the security camera, hindi natin siya makikita," sagot ko kay Ruri, but I noticed na may dugo na ang kanan na braso ni Ichiro.

"I am fine. I will cover for both of you. Go to the basement on my signal."

"No, I will do it. Ruri, run with Ichiro pababa sa basement," utos ko kay Ruri dahil may dalawang gun wounds si Ichiro sa braso. He will have a hard time aiming at Levine.
