Chapter 22 - Veronika

(POV Rafael)

Veronika Petrovsky, a friend and a colleague.

Bata pa lang ako, kilala ko na si Nika. I know that she's into me, but I can't fuck a friend or a co-worker. That is against my rule. Our relationship is in a professional level.

The only exception is Ruri Rosalind Saji, my fuck buddy.

"Rafael, it has been years since I last saw you. You're not returning my calls, how can you be so cruel?" sabi ni Nika na unti unting lumalapit sa akin.

Pumunta ko dito sa pool para mapag-isa pero hindi ko inaasahan na susundan ako ni Nika. She approached me and gently touched my chest. Umakyat ako dito sa isolated pool na ito para makapag isip, but this woman is bothering me.

"Nika, leave me alone," I said with a cold tone.

"Rafael don't push away. I want you. Di ka ba natutuwa that I'm a full grown woman now?" sabi ni Nika as she pressed her big chest to mine.

A few years ago, Nika looks like a thin anorexic Russian girl, but thanks to modern science, her body transformed into a gorgeous goddess.

"Nika, gusto mo ba ulitin ko pa? I want to be alone. Bakit hindi si Hunter ang guluhin mo?"

"But I want you badly Rafael. I can't think straight. All I want is to feel you inside me---"

I didn't let her finish and I gently pushed her away when I saw a glimpse of Hunter habang pasara ang elevator. But my eyes widened when I saw that he is not alone. Ruri is also with him. She must have seen me with Nika.

Madali ako umahon ng pool at iniwan si Nika. Bago pa ko makabalik sa suite namin, nakita ko na si Hunter na nakasandal sa wall as if he is waiting for me.

"Ruri Rosalind Saji huh?" taas kilay niyang tanong sa akin as he motioned me to sit sa isang malapit na bench.

Hunter Robson is one of my closest friend and I treat him as a brother. He is a celebrity now, but that is just a cover to his real identity.

"Hunter, I did not know..." mahina kong sagot sa kanya.

"Come on, Rafael. You are working in that recruitment agency company for a reason. Most of your missions are in that area as if Big Boss wants that place to be free of any evil beings. Hindi ka ba nagtataka man lang na Japanese si Ruri at Japanese din si Big Boss?"

"I don't fucking know Hunter! Akala ko nagkataon lang yun. Ruri accidentally discovered my secret. Wala akong choice but to keep her."

"Keep her and fuck her?"

"Wag ka na makialam Hunter. Ako na bahala dito. Ako na gagawa ng lusot sa gulo ko."

"Rafael, you are banging the daughter of our employer! What do you think Ichiro would do? He might as well kill you," natatawang sabi ni Hunter.

Ichiro is our handler. He is the one handling all of the assassins in our organization. He is our direct contact to our Big Boss, our main employer. We don't know anything about Ichiro, pero ang alam lang namin, he is not a Japanese national despite of his name.

Money is not a problem with our employer. Hindi na ako magtataka kung mas mayaman pa siya sa mga nasa Forbes magazine.

Our main goal is to kill all the people who serve as a plague to humanity. Yung mga rapist, molester at mga drug lords. Yung mga abusadong politicians at businessman na walang pagpapahalaga sa buhay ng tao at pera lang ang kanilang santo.

Alam ko na mali ang pumatay ng tao, but someone has to do this. Kung walang gagawa nito, maraming inosenteng tao ang magiging biktima.

Few years ago, the son of a famous politician went amok and shoot random people in the area. Soon, they found out that he is a drug addict. My mother became an innocent victim of this drug related shoot out.

My father became depressed with my mother's death and both of us moved to Edinburgh, Scotland to start a new life. Pero namatay din ang daddy ko when I was in high school due to heart attack.

That is when Ichiro found me. We also don't know much about him, aside from his name. Kahit Ichiro ang name niya, he does not look Japanese at all. We think he is an American CIA officer or a former US military handling covert operations based from his vast knowledge regarding espionage.

"I will deal with this, Hunter. It is better if I will end my attachment with Ruri."

"Don't worry brother, I already helped you. She saw you with Nika and I can see the pain in her eyes. Ano kaya sasabihin ni Big Boss sayo once he found out that you broke his daughter's heart?" mapang-asar na sabi ni Hunter.

"I will talk to Ichiro. He knows that Ruri is staying with me. I introduced her as my girlfriend."

"Rafael, I think you need to talk to Ruri. She's not a good actress to hide her emotions. Nasaktan siya nang makita nitya si Nika," sagot ni Hunter sabay tapik sa balikat ko.
