Chapter 9

Hey guys what's up? I know I have been a bad author for not updating last week but I'm sorry :'( hope you guys forgive me =D Anyway hope you like this chapter especially ididnot since she asked for Nate's POV so...

Nate's POV

"Did you just say Belle has cancer? Where would you get something so absurd from?" I asked Jade.

"Wait, you didn't know?! Well lover boy I guess she does not trust you," she replied especially stressing on the last part.

It was after school an I was waiting for Belle since, I was used to carrying her home, if it was just driving or walking, I was not going to let one bad day change anything. Just as I was about to enter her favourite place,the library, I bumped into Jade where I overheard her tell someone on the phone that Belle had cancer. I mean seriously, where would she even get something so ridiculous! Surely, Belle would have told me if she did, wouldn't she? Jade just laughed and continued walking as if nothing happened. Jeez, I really hate her. I shook my head and opened the door to Belle's escape where, the AC instantly cooled me.

Our school's library was just like any other, a librarian, chairs, tables and of course books. I guess the only thing that distinguished ours was our hilarious librarian. I mean no other library could have someone like her, she was all in all awesome. I know most other librarians were old, cranky and you could never have a normal conversation with them since, the most interesting thing that happened over the weekend to them was, the adoption of their new cat. I mean seriously, how interesting! On the othe hand, Catherine was the opposite and definitely the only reason guys would even step foot in here.

I asked her if Belle was here and no surprise she was. I then asked if there were any books on cancer and she looked at me shocked.

"Cancer?"

"Yea, it's for Biology research," I lied.

"Ok, right over there..." she pointed but at that exact moment I spotted Belle's face and just as my luck would have it, she looked up.

I smiled but for some reason, my eyes flickered to her left and I saw him. Not again! Why was he ALWAYS with her after this morning? I turned and left, pushing the door open and letting it slam behind me. It was then I felt a soft, gentle hand on my arm trying to stop me but, I just could not contain my anger anymore so I shrugged it off.

I began speaking, only stopping to take little breaths of air so I would not die during my rant and certainly not allowing her to explain anything. I knew I should have stopped sooner but it was as if my mouth had a mind of its own. Didn't she know how I felt about her? When I finally calmed myself, I looked at her face only to see that tears began to form. Oh jeez! This was what I could not handle, Belle crying and knowing it was my fault. I felt heartless and apologized, but all she did was nod, turn and walk away. I watched as her footsteps quickened and she disappeared out of my line of vision. What have I done?

"Good job Nate, now you certainly lost her," taunted my subconscious.

I really did not want to lose her but what could I do? Maybe all she needs is some time and I am willing to accept that but, if tomorrow came and she was avoiding me... I would fix this mess I caused.

I walked home alone that afternoon and I could not even eat dinner that night, let alone sleep. All I could think about was Belle and her eyes filling with tears and then running away from me, her best friend.

"What have I done," was the last thought that ran through my mind before sleep finally caught up to me.

Wow, cancer! Do you guys think she actually has cancer or not...
