Falling for Him

Chapter 6

Belle's POV

I finished all my morning classes and when it was time for lunch, Jasmine grabbed me by my hand and dragged me to and empty corner where she began asking me questions like I was under arrest.

" Ok, what's up with you?" " Why are you smiling like a maniac?" " Alright who is it?" " Was it Brandon because I saw what happened, you know!" ranted Jasmine. At the last question, I blushed even brighter than before, and I knew she figured it out because she laughed. " So it is him! I knew it!" she exclaimed, and I just smiled.

Jasmine unlike any other friend who was a girl, could read me like an open book, and I knew her for almost three years, and I know what you are thinking not as long as Nate but, I trusted her with my life and I knew she does too. Jasmine has a wicked sense of humor and she would always raise one of her eyebrows whenever she suspected something was wrong with me, and almost every time something was. In addition, whenever she was upset she would stomp her foot and walk away, but after a while we would both apologize since we made up each other and could not live without the other. She was not just my best friend anymore but she was now my family, more specifically my sister.

" So what did you guys talk about after you left Nate?" she questioned. I told her everything and when I was finished she actually began jumping up and down, and I had to remind her that we were in the cafeteria since, people were staring at us like we had just grown wings. When she calmed down, I asked her about Nate since, he didn't talk to me since this morning and that was strange. It was then I remembered that look he gave me, and I could understand why he didn't. After eating my lunch, Jasmine and I went to our afternoon classes together but, when the final bell rang to indicate school was over, we said our goodbyes and then, I darted towards the library.

For some unknown reason, being there gave me a sense of security and I felt as if all my problems just faded away as soon as I entered. After finding the book I wanted, I found a seat and became totally engrossed in it. Yeah, I guess you can call me a fan girl or a book lover, since I can not go a single day without reading a novel. This week I was reading Divergent by Veronica Roth and it was really and truly a captivating book.

While reading it, I reached this part, "You think giving you a hug would give away too much?" he says. "You know," I say. "I really don't care." I stand on my tiptoes and press my lips to his. It is the best moment of my life." - Veronica Roth, Divergent. I heard a cough, and looked up when I finished reading that last sentence, and after seeing who it was, I became stunned.
