I saw his face and all the butterflies came rushing back, I glanced around the store but to my utter disappointment, I could not find Nate anywhere. Why in heavens name, did everyone suddenly disappear whenever I needed them? Watching into his eyes, I knew he was waiting for a reply but that playful smile he had on his face made me zone in and out and, in and out. It was like being on a carousel but instead of horses and other various animals bobbing and going around, it was my heart.
"Oh h-hey Brandon," I stuttered.
"This is James my best friend, he wanted to meet you," he said pointing to the guy standing beside him.
"Really, and to what do I owe the honor?" I asked smiling.
"I just wanted to meet you. I've heard so many things about you." He replied, extending his hand out to me.
I knew James, he was a player. Not a bad boy but a rebel. He liked to think he could defy people but I believed he understood that there was a line not to cross. He was similar to Brandon in many ways and if I didn't know any better, I would bet all my money saying that they were brothers.
I shook his hand and then looked quizzically at Brandon, wondering what he heard about me but, he mouthed a simple,"I'll tell you later,"
"So Belle, what I wanted to ask you was if you would like to come with me tonight?" he asked his eyes pleading.
"Where?"
"It's a surprise, but trust me when I tell you, I think you would love it."
Looking at him, I wondered do I trust Brandon? I mean, I only talked to him a few times and I went to his house only once but, there was something about his personality, something that pulled me towards him. It was like I was a planet and he was the sun and with each passing minute, I felt as if he was slowly becoming part of me. Out of nowhere, I felt a hand grab my hand and wrap their fingers around mine, breaking me out of my train of thought. I looked up, and to my amazement it was Nate.
"Hey Nate, I was looking for you," I stated.
"Yea, I'm sorry, I went to collect something," he replied,"Ready to go?"
Nate did not even acknowledge the presence of Brandon or James even though they said,"Hi," I asked him to give me one more minute and he finally agreed.
"Ok, I'll come Brandon.'' I said after a few more seconds.
"Great! I'll pick you up at eight, wear something casual. Bye Belle."
I smiled and I could feel my heart beating faster and my cheeks heating up. I turned towards them one last time, and what I said made Brandon smile.
"I trust you, don't let me regret that,"
"What was that all about?'' Nate questioned as we left.
"Nothing, don't worry. But I have to ask, where did you go?"
"You'll see soon, don't worry,"
I laughed and pulled him into a hug.
"Belle, I just don't want you to get hurt,"
"Don't worry Nate, I'm a big girl."
At that moment I wasn't sure about anything. I released him from my hug and a few seconds after he did the same.
"Just promise me," he said.
"Ok, I promise." I said grabbing his hand and walking towards the exit.
He walked me home but before he left, he gave me a quick hug and a peck on my cheek. Giving Nikki her present, she thanked me profusely and said that she loved it. I sat on the couch and watched a few more episodes of Friends, before it was time to get ready and go somewhere with Brandon. Did I really and truly trust him or, was it my heart clouding my judgement?
Hey guys! what's up? ok so I don't really have much to say but like all chapters, I would like to thank you my readers I love each and everyone of you and I would like to give you all a hug so *virtual hug* did you get it?
