Savannah's Pov:

Mom and I sat on a large rock overlooking the beach. She looked agitated as we watched Katelyn approach the boys who were making a sand castle near the water. Lily rested on a fluffy blanket in a sandy spot just a metre or two away from us. Budgie guarded the baby carefully his seeing-eye dog vest with its series of pockets proudly on display.

"What are we going to do?" Mom asked her face momentarily glancing back at the infant and dog. Her hands went to her face as she held her motherly instincts from grabbing me close.

"We could continue trying to cross the ocean..." I replied watching some conversation startup and I giggled as Katelyn realized she could speak telepathically with me and my brothers.

"Did you know that?" She asked me suddenly within my head.

"Yes, now I need to continue speaking with my mother," I told her simply and she lowered her head in apology saying no more. Mom watched the figures that to her would be no more than blues before looking back at me.

"So as I was saying we would need to adjust some of the settings on my car." My mom stated as she glared at me. Obviously, she had said that many times to dad, but the complaints now came to me without my dad's presence.

"Yes mom, I'm well aware," I replied turning my face towards her I turned off my powers completely and allowed my hair to go limp and my eyes to stop glowing. Now that the metal wasn't interfering, I could feel my eyes tingling from the sudden blindness, as though they were trying to work but simply couldn't.

"Vannah?" My mom asked with concern while checking for wounds. I released my powers and felt my eyes and hair light up again. I started laughing and mom started mumbling something under her tongue before she joined me in laughter.

"On with business!" I laughed while taking a seat and the sandy rocks.
