Savannah pov:
"No, no, no!"I screamed while standing up quickly. I should have known better! Now days had come to pass and so had my dream. We were surrounded and somehow nobody had noticed until now, and then I saw it the glimmer of something unnatural. There was some sort of barrier around us and I knew instinctively that it was a power cancelling force field of some sort. If we touch it our powers would be nullified.
Mom stood up and looked where I was looking confused. One of the Grey skinned people stepped through the force field, followed by another, and then another. Gasps came from around the little clearing as everyone else finally saw what I saw. I could see the backpack that Cara was kept in stowed away in a tent about 20 meters from Katelyn who was hugging her father in fear as we all slowly started inching towards each other.
"We have got to think this through!" Bear told me telepathically. I nodded as we pulled into a tight circle around those without powers. I telekinetically moved the baby next to the backpack.
"We need to get to the backpack!"I told the others quickly and they all nodded in acknowledgement. Meanwhile, our enemies loaded their weapons and raised them. They would shoot the first one of us to make any sudden movements and then they wouldn't cease fire until we were all gone.
One shot from one of their bullets can sedate anyone with powers, but those without powers just die like my father. I could see Kate's father pulling a crudely crafted slingshot from his jacket. The air crackled with tension as an overwhelming calm overtook me.
Nevermind the fact that they killed my father and took my brother. We will survive we always do! My mind was going crazy but I limited my powers to the bare minimum. Something told me that they could see our powers somehow and it was then that I knew that simply concealing my powers was not enough.
We began the slow process of slowly moving towards the tent in baby steps. Our enemies just watched with amused smirks on their wicked and unnatural faces. They believed we couldn't escape and I felt a note of desperation wave over me as I considered the possibility of what must surely result in certain death.
Every second baby step we took they would take a step forward and I held a single cry of horror breaking through my state of emotionless tranquillity. One step, two steps, three baby steps, and yet at this point they were getting closer to the tent then we were.
"We need to change our tactic somehow," I told the others who looked at me with confusion.
"Savannah you can't stop using your powers right now you'll die," Clark said telepathically while quietly rubbing his hands together.
"Clark I haven't stopped using my powers," I told him confused before realizing that for once my hair wasn't flowing in all directions and glowing in pulsing golden beams. I glanced around us at the dozens of grey-skinned humans all with identical uniforms and guns in a society where those two things are rare to come by.
All I ever wanted growing up was to be normal but looking at these people so devoted to tracking us over the world to kill us. Watching their feet land in perfect sync to one another... if this is normal perhaps I'm having second thoughts.
Ten meters from the tent and they beat us to it. Cutting us off from it in seconds we were now completely trapped.
"It's time for plan two!" I told the others who looked confused knowing we never technically had a plan one. Of course, the stupid cat, dear sweet Neko, decided to jump out of the tent right then and there. That's when the first gun fired, and then the sky came tumbling down.

Then the world came tumbling down.
