Savannahs Pov:

Katelyn is dangerously accurate when it comes to first-person shooter games, for someone who has never played before that is. We started playing the game together, and the deal was whoever won best out of three rounds to fifty points would get the remaining pickles.

Perhaps I had been a little too overconfident because now it was down to the final round, the score stood 1-1. She had forty-five points and I had forty. What she didn't know was I was sneaking up on her.

"I can see you." She said as I came close behind her, she foolishly stopped her spartan from moving. Scratch that she knew, but that wouldn't stop me.

"Screen peeker!" I screamed my animated character assassinating her in one swift motion.

The background voice intoned, "assassination, gained the lead, game over."

"And that's how you win the pickles!" I bragged pulling another from the jar. I put the lid on the rest and put them back in the fridge as Kate stared wide-eyed at me.

"I would rather not starve the next two days okay," I stated matter of factly.

"Two days!" She declared pretending to faint. Her reaction earned an eye roll as she sunk further into the memory foam chair.

"Do you want everyone's attention on us!" I demanded and she considered my offer before agreeing.

"Do you have any other good books to read?" She asked while fiddling with her hands. I nodded and activated the compartment. My mini library consisted of many books. Kate chose 'My Sisters Keeper' by Jodi Picoult

"That one tears your heart out as well., I told her she only smiled and walked to her chair. She suffered like me, searching books for someone that understood our pain. I shook my head and pulled the Hobbit out of its place.

its pages were old and battered, all my books were, most of them were over one hundred years old. Thankfully page preserver spray had been layered over these books so as not to destroy them.

I grabbed one of the bean bags out of another compartment and Kate simply looked at me in wonder. I went to sit down but Kate teleported onto my chair first. This was the cyan one; my favourite colour. The other one was sunlight yellow and claimed your full attention even if you're trying to read.

I pulled it out and Katelyn switched to the yellow one which was better for my concentration anyways. I quickly sat down on mine and opened my great-great-grandfathers book. My mind was wandering into another fantasy world in a matter of seconds.
