Mïkas Pov:

We all walked into the large cave which was slowly turning more gadget like. Being a scout with a human Spêtsïalen I was able to bypass the line. We were here for Sÿgdōm testing.

Sÿgdōm was a disease that only Spêtsïalens could get. It attacked us like a normal cold before wiping our powers. After that our immune systems collapse and we are open to any other illnesses. Our people would have excruciating pain before dying.

There was no cure using powers, not even the strongest healers could heal it. Spêtsïalens often had to suffer through it and hope for the best. Most die, and others lose their powers due to the harsh effect of the illness.

We both entered the medical section of the ship. They placed my specialized Kūbatsîz bracelet on my wrist and I felt my powers fading. I stretched out my wrist and let them take my blood.

They put it in the test tube and approached Rin. She tried to fight them but they managed to get the bracelet on her. It adapted to her power and I could see the medics shocked faces when the book flashed purple and the name in cursive disappeared. Rin looked slightly surprised but mostly just smiled.

"I didn't like that name much anyways." She said opening the book. The pages swirled with purple and she started reading from the teleportation page again. She finished reading and gasped when nothing happened.

The doctors restrained and took her blood while my own results came in. The doctor pulled me into a side room and motioned for me to take a seat.

"Congratulations on bringing in the first human Spêtsïalen! We will speak with her later..." He trailed off as he plugged the screen in. I saw my blood cells and terrible black blobs attacking them. Sÿgdōm... I had Sÿgdōm. I shook my head in horror as my head in horror as I stared at my blood fighting off the disease.

"It would have been nice to know we have a resister in our midst." The doctor said.

"What how did you know?" I asked a little panicked. A resister could resist our weakness the vėdanï metal due to... Reasons.

"Because you're just a carrier for the disease, it can not harm you." He said glaring at me. "You'll have to speak to someone else about this later because I'm not handling you when you lose it."

Yes, I may have forgotten to mention the fact that I am a resister because resisters had a tendency to go crazy. I sighed sadly. I had done it to myself after my sister had become a Zïlïqar. I had cut myself with my weakness in the attempt to kill myself. It had hit my heart and I entered a coma...

I might not remember three unconscious weeks but I know they were there because on my birthday I woke up with a new power and the knife was halfway across my room. In crumbling pieces. It had disintegrated inside my chest after touching blood for so long, so that was how I knew I had become a resister...

Why couldn't I have been a normal Umbergian child?
