Katelyn's Pov:

I had been watching her for quite a while. The girl looked to be around my age, and she had powers too! Her hair and eyes started glowing again as soon as Mr. Mcallander left. I couldn't tell what powers she had, but some form of telekinesis was definitely in effect as she lifted and changed objects just by standing around them.

I was thankful that I was in the form of a normal beetle right now because the girl appeared to not have to see in all directions at once. Her powers were making quick work of what would have normally taken years to clean up. Everything seemed to be a dance to her as though she had done it before hundreds of times.

She disappeared into the barn after everything else was cleaned. Now was the time for introductions. At least that's what I told myself as I returned to my human form and ran into the barn.

Her body immediately tensed as I entered and hid behind a large mound of hay. Those glowing electric blue eyes whipped around as she shook off whatever she had been thinking about.

"Hello!" I beamed as I stepped out from behind the hay pile. A rather sharp pitchfork was sent flying in my direction. My superspeed allowed me to step aside just in time as it pierced through the old wooden door behind me.

"Hello!" I repeated as though saying it twice would make her feel less threatened. I could see her hand unconsciously reaching for the pocket knife positioned by her waist. She slowly turned to face me with a fake smile plastered all over her face.

"Hi?" She said as though the one word could gauge its way into my soul and find my darkest secrets. Meanwhile, I couldn't help the jubilant feeling welling within my heart. Finally, there was someone like me to talk to and be friends with.

"Come with me I've got to show you something!" I begged as I ran to the door and motioned for her to follow. She regarded me with apprehension before a coy smile crept its way up to her face, as though she would play along, but only until she decided enough was enough.

"Alright lead the way." She teased while motioning with her hand. I nodded and took off running using my super speed. We made it to the tree line and I paused to see if she was keeping up only for her to fly past my and whip around back in my direction.

I continued running in the direction of my favourite hiding place. Obviously, superspeed was one of her powers as well considering how she kept up with me and looked rather perturbed at my sudden stop.

After running as fast as my legs could carry me I stopped at the large hollow tree stump that I called my own. The girl, unlike myself, hardly broke a sweat even now as she watched me gasp and wheeze. Her hair was now blowing wildly around her face which she paid no attention to.

I pushed the large planks away from the opening to the stump. Rocks and pebbles gently poked my knees and elbows as I crawled in through the narrow opening. Upon entering the hollow stump I blinked as the light gently filled the large space from cracks along the bark.

The girl, who was still rather wary of me took a great deal of coaxing to get into the stump. Once she was in her eyes never moved off of me as her hand held the pocket knife to her chest. The only movement she made was her eyes widening in surprise.

"Sit down I won't hurt you!" I laughed while sitting on one of the mounds of dirt protruding from the ground. The girl reached for the roof and drew her hand back when she could not reach it.

"I would rather continue standing." She answered curtly, but her stance clearly relaxed as though she were beginning to trust me. Perhaps she would become a friend.

For any who have read the older copy, the only real difference was their conversation.
