"Y/n, senator for Virginia," I introduced myself politely. Alexander looks at me, smiles. He gives me a thumbs up and leaves, looking at Eliza Schuyler.
I am Alexander Hamilton's sister. I too have accomplished great things.....
Congress meetings. Why o why?! I was elected easily, surpassing a Mr Jefferson quickly.
I take my seat at the table assigned to me. It is after a long 4 day meeting that we now get a party. A very formal party.
I am sitting at my table, watching my brother and Miss Eliza Schuyler dance like two lovebirds. Across the room I see my friends. Lauren's waves me over, and whispers in my ear. " Lafayette is trying to get a Schuyler sister, Angelica," he tells me, about to laugh. I smile and chuckle. Mulligan appears out of nowhere with Peggy, the youngest Schuyler sister.
We were conversing when I saw Laurens look behind me worriedly.
" Y/n, Jefferson is coming over here." He says quickly, slight, just barely, panic in his voice.
Jefferson, the one I beat. Dear lord, I prayed, save me from his awful remarks.
"I'll be fine, but please stay here with me, who knows what he would do...." I trail off. They both nod, and I see Jefferson is almost to us.
"Hello," he says politely, but he is smirking. "Hello, Mr. Jefferson, and how are you on this fine evening?" I ask, trying to be civil. Arrogant pig.
"Very nice, Miss Hamilton," he says. "May I have this dance with you?" He bows slightly. I look at my friends, then back to the man in the magenta coat.
"Yes, sir, you may," I say politely. He leads me to the dance floor. I see Alexander looking at us, but ignore him. Focus on your reputation.
"How does feel?" Jefferson asks me. "To be Virginia's state senator?"
He seems to be polite, but I am cautious nonetheless. "Very accomplishing, being the first woman to be in a government position. Especially in Virginia," I reply.
He raises his eyebrow. "Oh? How so?" He asks me.
I hesitate. " Virginia is... very... conservative. I do not agree with slavery, or the oppression of woman," I tell him, confidence appearing in my voice out of nowhere.
He looks shocked, and I am not surprised.
He regains his posture quickly however. "I believe that a WOMEN being elected Senator is crazy!" he says, and smirks. I'm becoming tired of this extremely quickly. I sigh. " And what is thy supposed to mean?" I ask him, a tiny bit of cold in my voice. I know that he noticed too.
I break away, and glare at him. " Then why aren't YOU senator?" I ask him coldly, and leave him, shocked, in the middle of the dance floor.
