"Peggy, please! Watch her!" Peggy nods as Thomas and I run out the door. We were visiting for the holidays, so that Chesnee could meet her cousins. Peggy is watching her as we make our way to the shoreline.
  Something terrible has happened.
We get there, and I see Alexander on a cot, talking, blabbering, to Eliza and Angelica.
"Alexander!" I scream, and rush to him, tears in my eyes, falling on my knees, grabbing his hand.
Eliza and Angelica leave me with him.
"What did you do?!" I hiss. He chuckles, but winces because of the pain. "Burr and I, we had a duel..." his voice is raspy, and I know he will die soon.
My baby brother, dying. No,no,no! "Alexander! You idiot!" He looks at me, tears in his eyes. "I'm sorry.." it's a whisper. Alexander Hamilton NEVER whispers. Never. No, No!
"Alexander Hamilton, you have done so much, you did not fail, you will have a great legacy. I will make sure, I will make sure that you have an amazing legacy. Someone will write musicals, books, in your honor. I want you to know that, ok? Don't worry," tears are spilling down my cheeks, his breaths are shallower, No!
"Y/n, I love you," he tells me. "You've been my role model for my entire life. I love you."
And then his breaths are even shallower, and he's gasping for air, and I'm telling him, even though I don't want to, even though the tears are spilling out of my eyes, that it's OK. He can let go.
And his does. The doctor shakes his head grimly.
I let out a heartbreaking scream. I'm bawling. My brother is gone. He's been there, always being annoying, and now he's gone.
Thomas and Eliza rush over to me. Thomas puts his arms around my neck, and Eliza grabs my hand, silent tears staining her dress.
"No! Why, why Alexander!? No!" I wail and I wail. America has just lost their Founding Father. And I have just lost my dear brother.

Eventually I'm able to stand up. Thomas and I walk silently back to the house. It is almost dark.
We enter our house that we are renting.
"Oh, Y/n!" Peggy hugs me tightly and I smile grimly.
"It's ok, Peggy. I'll be ok."
