My body is fragile and sweaty and gross. Thomas's hand is bruised, but he's wearing the biggest smile in his face I've ever seen.
Then the nurse enters with my daughter in a pink, fuzzy blanket. I smile as widely as Thomas, and I feel the tears making streaks down my sweaty and tired face. She hands her to me, and I look at her innocent face. Her eyes are closed as she is resting. Her facial structure is mine, but what little hair she has is frizzy and black, all from her father.
Thomas looks at her, and tears of happiness come down his cheeks too. He kisses my forehead and takes the newborn from me.
"She's amazing,as beautiful as the stars!" He says in awe and I nod in agreement, drying my eyes.
I change into some comfy pajamas, and sleep. When I wake up, Laff is in our room, as well as James, Herc, and Peggy. Laff is jumping up and down like a little child. "Madame! Your Bèbè is adorable!" He is extremely happy. I laugh.
"Laff, we want you to be The Godfather," I tell him. He looks shocked for a moment, before tears of happiness form in his bright eyes. He steps out for a moment, as does Peggy when we make her the Godmother.
When they come back in, Peggy asks: "what's her name?" I look at Thomas. He clears his throat. "Chesnee Autumn Jefferson," He announces, pridefully. Our guests cheer, and then they start to trickle out, for it is getting late. Thomas lays down next to me, and Chesnee is taken to the nursery. We cuddle, and I feel as if my heart has grown to love the two people I love most.
  And she's so beautiful!
