Chapter Fifteen
PromiseWe went to take a quick snack before we planned to head to the Summit on the other side of the Oceanpark.
The car cable started mounting up and away from the station.
The view from the top is fascinating.
One's through the train, and one's through the cable car. We thought it's a good idea to ride the cable car to savor the view.
We passed by lands covered with thick green trees that divide the Summit and the Waterfront.
I took a pic.
Unlike the Waterfront which revolves around marine water and other natural attractions, the Summit is composed of seemingly fun rides and attractions, like an amusement park!
We even spotted a yellow long-range rollercoaster. It was moving in a fast-paced manner and even though I couldn't hear the shout of people riding on it, I could already tell it's a bloody ride!
"Hair Raiser, that's what it's called," Zywon spilled when he read over the map.
There's a definite reason for the name. The roller coaster moving at that tremendous speed is indeed enough to make people's hair rise.
I groaned in excitement. "Subukan natin?"
"If you want us to," sagot ni Won.
I smiled excitedly. Mas maraming tao dito sa Summit kumpara sa Waterfront—probably because the extreme rides are its main attraction.
We spotted another ride after going out of the station. It was a drop tower. The map says it's The Abyss, a 203 feet free-falling tower.
"The Abyss muna, pwede?" Chloe asked him.
"The Abyss?" He consulted me. "Tutal nandito na rin tayo, Hails? Gusto mong subukan muna?"
I have no choice but to accept.
The Abyss is a straight ascending ride and at the same time, a blistering ride when it descends down in no time. It will take you up in the sky; allow you to see everything of Hong Kong and by the time you're unaware, it'll drop you down in a fast whim, leaving your soul somewhere up there.
Sobrang taas. But I'm not one to say no on rides.
Staff escorted us to our seats and helped us lock our seatbelts on.
