Chapter Forty-Five
ColleagueI hope what I did was right. It has to be.
I didn't go that far to the point of almost fighting with Chloe para lang pagsisihan ang ginawa ko. I made my voice heard. It's still up to Chloe to consider.
Won still hasn't talked to me when I get back. I think we're avoiding each other and for me to do that, I went out to the hotel's rooftop hotspot kahit ang malamig ang panahon.
The intense talk didn't limit to Chloe and Won. There came another person who confronted me.
What did Jayden say again?
Does he think I hate Chloe because of him, too? And how can he brag those to me?
I only left because I couldn't bear anymore exchange in resentments.
The cold breeze on the rooftop, luckily, put an end to my mere discomfort. I just don't want to ruin this day any longer. I hugged my knees when I sat up in one of the round chairs. It was even vibrant and alive at night.
It was until I noticed someone sitting beside me. I craned my neck to check the figure and it was Zywon.
Ashamed, I looked away. His presence now suddenly made guilt creep on me.
"Why are you here?" he asked me.
I was startled when he initiated the conversation.
"You... might not like to see me."
I saw him shrugged behind me.
"Why wouldn't I want to see my best friend?"
I smiled faintly, still keeping my distance and will to act nosy.
"Because she's insensitive and blind," I reasoned.
He let out a chuckle. Nagkibit-balikat ako dahil doon. Yeah, he must be laughing kasi ngayon ko lang na-realize kung gaano ako kamanhid bilang best friend.
He smiled genuinely.
"It's getting cold. Let's have coffee?"
My lips formed a apologetic smile. Tinanggap ko ang kamay niya saka tumayo. Sabay kaming bumalik sa hotel room.
Just like that, we're fine again.
But of course, I know I wouldn't completely make it up to Won if I am not on good terms with Chloe. I told him I tried to talk to her and tried to figure out her resolve but I failed to.
