"A gala in your company?"

I was on the edge of the bed when Almira bossed my way. Inokupa niya ang bakanteng pwesto sa tabi ko pero pinigilan ko siyang maupo roon. Thus, I caught and pulled her to sit on my lap. Nagpaubaya naman siya.

"It's their founding anniversary," I mentioned. "They'll be announcing a partnership project with a prime holding company. VPH."

"VPH?"

"Vastia Prime Holdings."

Kinuha niya ang mga braso ko at inikot sa baywang niya. She nodded quickly at my response. She has her back facing me but I could sense the questioning stare on her face.

"Vastia?" she muttered softly. "That sounds familiar."

"Biggest integrated property developers," I brought up. "You could have worked on their financial statements before?"

"Narinig ko rin ata kay Al. But... nevermind!" banggit niya. Tiningnan niya ako ng problemado. "Are you sure you'll invite me? I'm not an employee of the company."

"I have an invitation for us, Almira," I assured.

"Talaga?" She groaned. "But a gala means dressing up. I'm not prepared. Wala nga ata akong evening dress."

"Let's buy you one today then," I invited.

"Really? Then that means it's a date, right?"

I laughed. "Yeah."

"Fine," she said and stood up. "Give me fifteen minutes. I'll fix myself."

I chuckled. Pinanatili ko ang titig na nakasunod habang nagpupunta sa banyo. When she goes out, I'll probably find myself still looking at her. Because why not? There's just no way I'll look anywhere else when I already have my heart in front of me.

Simula kailan pa bang nasa kaniya lang ang tingin ko?

"Jayden! You only need to hold Al's hand and act like you're in love!"

Hindi ako nakinig sa sinabi ni Charles.

"Bilisan mo na nang matapos na 'to at magawa na natin ang gusto natin!"

My jaw clenched. I gave him a glare. Kung siya kaya ang gumawa? Edi sana tapos na kami.

We had a field trip in Tagaytay. Kahit sana ay para magliwaliw ang pinakarason, may project pa rin na binigay sa amin. Hindi man lang kami binigyan ng pagkakataong ma-enjoy ng maayos ang field trip.

The adviser even notified us to make a brochure about Tagaytay and the rest of Cavite. Dahil mga babae pa ang halos lahat ng kagrupo ko, and girls are dreamy, they wanted the concept to be a travel brochure, with a couple doing prenuptial photoshoots as the main idea.

They chose me and my other classmate, Alethia Castellón.

Of course, I didn't take it. I'm just the most awkward person anyone will meet.

"The night is nearing. We should make it fast para makasakay pa tayo ng rides bago bumalik sa bus!"
