Jordyn slinked onto the stool behind the island.

She hadn't seen him in  twenty   years. Right after he abandoned her to go on tour .Right after Jordyn found out she was pregnant .

She never got the chance to tell him.

Right after Jordan promised he would never abandon her. He did .

He lied .

He'd torn    her heart out.

Here he  was coming home ! Next week?

How had she not  found out about this earlier?

Goddamnit

Jordyn  was shaking. Just the mere mention of him coming here was enough to set all sorts of emotions off in her. She knew that no matter what she told herself, she would end up going. She couldn't miss him.

Composing herself before her best friend  walked through the door Jordyn turned off the tv as she walked toward  the bathroom. Dinner forgotten she stepped into the shower .A place where she did her best crying. It had been so long. twenty   years. twenty   long, lonely years. Jordyn  had never met another man who could make her feel what Jordan did. They'd become fast friends when they were kids , spent countless hours together building a bond Jordyn naively thought would last forever  , never apart from one another for very long .The night  before he left to take on the world she had given herself to him fully ,after Jordyn laid in his arms as  Jordan  whispered promises of forever .Jordan promised once the tour was finished he'd be back for her. Less  than twelve hours  later Jordan took  her heart with him. He promised  that his feelings for her were the same but then a year after that, just three months after the birth of their son, she read  an article in the local paper  that he was seeing someone .They looked happy. So Jordyn   gave  up any hope of him  ever coming back. Instead, Jordyn   threw herself into getting her writing  degree while Marcel had still been a baby so that she could provide for him. By the time Marcel started school, she had started working at one of the women's magazines as a features writer. She loved what she did but she loved her son more and thankfully the magazine was a lot less strict on time off than some other places worked . She hadn't been willing to let her son lose both his parents. Now as an established ,published author she worked from home ,set her own hours as she had for the last decade and a half.
