Jordyn pulled up in the parking lot of the publisher  and rested her head on the steering wheel. She had to compose herself before she walked inside. No one knew Marcel's father's identity here and she  planned on keeping it that way.
" Hey Jordyn! Did you hear?" that was the first thing Zoe greeted her with. And she instantly knew what Zoe was talking about. Jordyn couldn't remember the times Zoe had mentioned how much she liked Jordan as a singer.
" On the radio as well as a report on Tv before I came over here." Jordyn explained as Zoe nodded excitedly.
" Are you going?"
" If I can get tickets yes," Jordyn huffed , placing her bag  on Zoe's desk.
" Hey no problem there! My boyfriend works at the concert venue. He said he'd get me as many tickets as I wanted" Zoe beamed  and instantly texted  her boyfriend. Jordyn sighed as she sat down in Zoe's  chair. Maybe this was a bad idea. Jordyn  had a feeling that if she saw him, if Jordan  saw her but ignored her she would be broken. Jordyn wasn't sure if she could handle that. She still loved him. It was hard not to be reminded of him when she had his son. Jordyn  leaned back further into the  chair, closing her eyes, picturing that  long ago last morning,  as dawn  approached.

Jordyn  could see him standing there, Jordan's  shoulders hunched against the cool wind, his hair blowing in every direction, his eyes so eager ,vulnerable and open.

Jordan  asked her twice to come along...they said goodbye at the break of dawn...'if it's meant to be again...then someday he'll find his way back to my arms..."......

Jordyn wiped a stray tear as her mind drifted off again

" Come with me," Jordan  pleaded. Jordyn shook her head, not looking at him. She could feel the tears welling in her eyes. Why was he doing this? He knew she had a life here, friends here. She couldn't just pack up and leave.
" I cant Jordan. Don't ask me to do that."
" Please, come with me. I need you with me. I don't want to lose you," he  repeated again and again

Jordyn  refused him.

They  hugged, kissed as they  whispered  their goodbyes. Jordyn  could still see him standing in the front of the  bus as it drove away from her. He looked so lost, so alone. She  wondered so many times if that had been the reason why Jordan   found  that other woman. Because she  refused him when he had asked her to come along. Jordan  would never know how much she  wanted to accept what he offered , to just go with him and leave everything behind.

Jordyn   thought he would come back to her after the tour had finished but Jordan  hadn't. When she found out she was pregnant, she  wanted to get in touch with him but she didn't. When Jordyn  had their son she  wanted to go to him,' but she couldn't. Her hopes, her dreams had been kept alive with thoughts that Jordan  would come back at any time, pick her up and make her his wife.

But Jordan  hadn't

Jordyn   packed away her dreams, locking  them away. She was a mother now. She had someone other than herself to care for, to look after. So she had raised Marcel the best way she knew how. He had such a wonderful talent in singing, a beautiful falsetto. He participated  in the school choir and loved singing. Jordyn didn't discourage him. Instead, Jordyn  began  sending him to a vocal  teacher, who  offered him music lessons with instruments as well. Marcel   eagerly accepted, playing not only the keyboards, but also the guitar. Jordyn was raising him the way she thought Jordan would want him raised - and if that meant giving him music lessons which  allowed  him explore his musical ability, then so be it.

Marcel was home for Thanksgiving break the next day Jordyn decided to not give him the shit she originally planned. Maybe the dating site hadn't been such a bad idea .

"Mom can I talk to you ?" Marcel asked quietly as he sat down at the island with a cup of coffee for each of them

"What's up?" Jordyn asked as she sat down next to him lifting the cup to her lips.

"There's this older kid who is a mentor for IT majors "

When he paused, brows furrowed  looking for the right words he reminded Jordyn so much of his father she quickly took another sip of her coffee.

"What about him ?"

"Mom he looks like me .Like identical to me."

"Marc they say people have doppelgangers maybe you found one of yours"

"Mom it's more than that. He looks like that singer guy you know the one from Dorchester ? And people keep telling me he sounds like me "

"Singer from Dorchester ? Who  are you talking about ?"

"I don't know  some old guy "
