Jordyn left Marcel with his father for a short time excusing herself to Jordan's back patio.The air was crisp but she needed the moment to herself to think.

Where would they go from here ?

Who ruined their hopes and dreams all those years ago and why?

Questions played repeatedly through her head

Ones that had no answer at least it seemed that way to Jordy

Jordan silently stood in the doorway of the sliding glass door watching her.

Marcel stood on the other side of door frame in an identical stance to his father's.

Marcel had a better understanding of the man who created him after their discussion both with his mother and after she disappeared through the doorway they'd watched her from.

Marcel nodded silently in a quiet signal to Jordan that he was leaving .

Extending his hand to his father Marcel softly apologized for his behavior from the time they'd met.

"Marc listen I know DJ is who your mentoring this semester .I haven't really had the chance to fill him in with most of this. I'd like you to come back this weekend so we can all sit down and talk. "

Marc looked at his father as realization hit him .

Really hit him

"Jordan uh I mean Dad. Sorry this is all new . So everyone was right ? I have a brother ?"

Jordan whipped out the photo he'd shown Jordy previously

"His name is Dante . Dante Jordan. DJ "Jordan explained

Marc was skeptical when people talked about them but hearing it as confirmation was like a sucker punch to the gut.

His father was an icon and he had a brother

Jordan hesitantly pulled Marc in for a sort of bro half hug

"I'm sorry Marcel I wish I'd been a better father . Maybe we all have our second chance .A fresh start "

Marcel nodded still in a daze as he walked out the sliding glass door , hugged his mother and cut through the yard to walk home.

Jordan sauntered up behind Jordy sliding his arms around her shoulders from behind as he rested his chin on the top of her head.

"Penny for your thoughts baby ?"Jordan murmured

Tipping her head back Jordyn reached up and grazed Jordan's chin with her lips

"Where do we go from here J? "

Jordan moved until he could kneel in front of her .

'We find out who fucked up our lives.Who the prick was that took us away from one another and my son away from me"

Jordan declared looking up into Jordy's pained eyes as he wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer

"What are we doing Jordy ?' Jordan asked quietly

Confusion blanketed Jordy's eyes as she tried to avoid Jordan's gaze

"I need you baby . I can't tell you how many times I wondered where the fuck things went to shit , and how to fix it."Jordan whispered emotionally

"Please don't tell me it's too late "

Jordyn cupped his face in her hands

"Look at me "

When Jordan looked up he saw the same look he'd seen when they were sixteen

Vulnerability , adoration and unconditional love

"We can try this Jordan but I honestly don't know how this will work. We've traveled different paths for so long we're different people now."

Jordan gently pulled her to a standing position ,wrapping his arms around her

"Let's right some wrongs and put our shattered pieces back together "
