Jordyn walked back to the table as Jordan stood to let her slide back into the booth.

The awkwardness lasted seconds when Jordan cleared his throat , took a sip of his drink "So tell me how things have been for you "

This was her opening ,her chance to tell him about their son.

Jordyn's biggest dilemma was should it be done there ? They'd shared so much in that old diner's booth.Their hopes ,aspirations More importantly their love for one another.

Taking a deep breath Jordyn explained her life after he left deliberately avoiding bringing their son up .

Jordan sat listening without interruption as he watched her intently.Despite their time apart he knew she was holding back something.

"There's more baby I can see it .Just tell me Jordy "

Jordan wrapped his arms around her as he  gently kissed her temple, whispering  "Tell me "

Jordyn reached into her bag retrieving her wallet and phone . Opening both she tapped a few keys and slid it to him with a picture.

Jordan picked both up his expression unreadable.

Suddenly his eyes widened as the color from his face drained.

Retrieving his wallet he pulled out his photo of DJ again.

"They could be twins " Jordyn whispered swallowing hard.

Jordan knew the look on her face well.

She was doing everything possible to keep herself together.

Wrapping his arms around her Jordan pulled her as close as the booth would allow.

Jordyn's resolve broke at that moment as her shoulders shook violently.

"You never told me ." Jordan whispered emotionally

She nodded against his shoulder

"Why baby ?"

"Y-you h-hadn't been in contact in any form I -I thought y-you didn't want me anymore .Th-that you found someone b-better"

Jordyn was violently shaking . Not caring who saw them Jordan pushed himself back on the seat , pulling her onto his lap .Wrapping his arms around her he held her whispering reassuringly just as he had whenever she was upset when they were younger .

Several minutes passed until Jordyn calmed enough to speak.

"His name is Marc. Actually Marcel.I couldn't bear to name him after you completely so I took the best option. He originally was given my maiden name but then I got married and he took the name Cooper."

"Does he know who I am ?"

"He asked me questions about this kid at WPI . I didn't have many answers " Jordyn explained  subconsciously leaning into Jordan's arms more.It was instinctive.

"I think we need to finish this conversation in private baby "Jordan whispered as he guided her up off his lap.Tossing a few bills on the table Jordan led her outside to his waiting suv.

Once on the road Jordan drove straight to his house.

"Where are we ?"

"My place Is that okay ?"Jordan murmured.

"Yes "

After he helped her out of the car Jordan guided Jordyn  to the front door, reaching around her he unlocked the door and pushed the door open, allowing her to enter first.

Jordyn looked around awkwardly , taking in the large fireplace with a mantle littered with framed photos. In the corner the large leather sectional with a wooden coffee table separating the couch from the large tv seated on an oversized wooden entertainment cabinet. To her right was the dining room with the large cherry finished  farm table surrounded by matching  chairs. In the far corner Jordyn noted the matching china cabinet and to the far back wall the  buffet hutch .

"Jordy come with me baby " Jordan asked softly  so close to her ear she could smell the mint on his breath from either his gum or mouthwash.

Allowing Jordan to guide her, Jordyn was led to another large room with another fireplace.

There was a large black piano in the far corner and a massive cherry desk in the middle of the room.To the far right corner there sat a leather love seat that matched the couch in the living room.

Jordan led her to the loveseat  sitting down as he gently  took  her into his arms.

He held her as she poured everything out that was left unsaid in the diner.

Feeling like a complete douchebag Jordan had no idea what to say or how to make it better.

He'd fucked up royally and he knew no matter what he said there was no way it could or would ever make up for his stupidity.
