Lasting Love

Jordan  hugged her tighter, sighing . "I want to be us again. Can we try? We can go as slow as you need but I can't live without you. Not again."

"Please don't leave me again" Jordyn whispered avoiding Jordan's eyes "No one else can ever measure up to who you are to me. No one can ever be you Jordan I tried and it failed miserably I should've never married him but I did and never had the courage to end it. His death took care of that for me"

"I'm never leaving again unless you tell me to. I love you more than there are stars in the universe." Jordan whispered as he  kissed her deeply.

"You love the younger me I may not be the same person you fell in love with J" Jordy whispered nervously afraid to open up to him.

Before anything else could be said or done Jordan's phone rang. Hoping it was just one of the boys or his family Jordy held her breath as he answered it.

Jordan's phone buzzing caused him to break his hug. He looked down at his phone and saw it was the private investigator calling.

"Yeah"

"PI: So I found some interesting things about your old  manager Maurice. It seems that right as the group hit it big he transferred a pretty good amount of money into a bank account. I believe it was a private account since I couldn't get access to the name on the account. He also had several sexual assault and molestation cases that just seemed to vanish. I believe he was paying the victims off. I also found evidence he was stealing money from the group and you personally. I have all the evidence on paper and on a flash drive.

Jordan: That piece of shit was stealing from us the entire time! How did he make those cases just go away? Can you get me the evidence as soon as possible? I'd like to look over it."

Jordyn watched nervously as Jordan's facial expressions changed repeatedly and frequently. Unsure of how to approach him she mouthed "What ?" to him reaching out to touch his shoulder.

"The PI said that Maurice has been stealing money from the group and me for years. He also said that he was involved in some sexual assault and molestation cases but the cases just seemed to go away." Jordan explained feeling a mix of confusion, anger and hurt.

Jordyn pulled her hand back as if she'd been burned and backed away from Jordan

"Oh God I'm so sorry Jordan  "

"I'm going to take all the evidence to the police when I get it. He's not getting away with any of this." Jordan in a calm tone that he didn't feel.

At that moment Jordan realized Jordy backed away from him, fear in her eyes  "Baby what's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked softly as he reached for her hand

"I should've  never let him near me. He told me he'd shut your career down unless I complied , made him happy " Jordy mumbled as if Jordan wasn't even with her.

Jordan listened intently. "Are you saying he touched you?" He asked softly

Jordyn nodded slowly , tears in her eyes as she increased the distance between them, awaiting the accusations she thought were inevitable.Maurice told her no one would believe her and throughout her life she'd always believed him especially after members of Jordan's family and her own father called her a slut and a whore.

"I will not let him get away with hurting you. I will destroy him!" Jordan told her

"J it was a long time ago what can we really do now ? I mean we can't get back the time we lost and he got a cheap thrill I guess .He hasn't been able to destroy your career so what can he possibly take from us now ?"

"He will rot in prison when I'm done with him."

"I should thank your brother I think he stopped a lot that could've happened that day"Jordy whispered as the memories assaulted her subconscious.

Jordan wanted to hold  and comfort her but was afraid it would cause more harm than good. "I'm so sorry baby. I couldn't protect you."

"You were busy and Maurice  knew that .Do you remember the day you were recording I Wanna be Loved by You? How chaotic and clusterfucked that day was ?"

"That was a crazy day. So much excitement and.." He trailed off as he looked at her face. He could see the pain in her eyes

"It was .I was bursting with pride.The look on your face as you sang watching me watch you .I never heard him come up behind me "

"I'm so sorry baby. I should have protected you better. I never should have left you alone in that room" he whispered.

"You had a job to do J and he knew that. Maurice was slick as shit I'll give him that. But I don't think he expected Jon to come sit with me while you were in the booth"

"Maurice will pay for everything he's done. I promise you that."

"I want what he can't give me J and that's the time he took from us because of his lies. He had to have worked with someone tho J think about it . Who else knew we wrote letters back and forth ? Who else knew you were supposed to come home for your birthday weekend that weekend ?"

"I'm not sure. I think my brothers knew and the guys."

"Somebody was definitely tellin someone something  Jordan because my father wasn't letting me out of the house , my mother wasn't home , your mom wouldn't answer my calls and your cousin was a complete dick when I saw him in class that Thursday .He almost got me detention that day he knew I was excited and didn't want to stay after so he started shit and everytime the damn teacher kept eyeing me . I was so pissed I stormed out mid class . Hormones and whatnot I guess which almost bought me detention."Jordyn explained

"I'm going to figure out who all was involved."
