They sat quiet for several moments when Jordan's phone began ringing.

"Hey DJ yeah I'm good. The uh date ? Uh I guess it went okay. No she's not ugly "Jordan eyed her as he spoke a smirk tipping his lips

Jordyn smacked his chest playfully a gesture she'd done uncountable times.

"Look bud I gotta go for a bit. I'll call you later .Yes .No . Too bad we're divorced your mother can get over herself "

Jordan huffed in frustration "DJ I'm not doing this now.No ."

Hitting the end button harder than he intended Jordan looked like he wanted to crush the phone.

"What's wrong J?"

The familiar nickname she'd said hundreds of times just slipped out before Jordyn could stop it.

"You called me J ." his voice was a whisper.

Moving closer cautiously Jordan swallowed hard

"We could take things slow "

Jordan's eyes turned hopeful.

"Do you really mean that ?"

"I never stopped loving you either. It almost didn't seem fair to Will"

"Will?" Jordan asked then it dawned on him. Her deceased husband.

"Never mind . Guess I'm a little slow tonight "

"I thought he could replace you. Thought if we created memories together they would erase the ones I made with you. "

"They didn't?" Jordan asked softly.

"How could they when everytime he touched me , kissed me , made love to me I saw and felt you?"

Jordan nodded for her to continue but also in understanding. He'd felt the same way about Emily.

He just hadn't realized how much he'd tried to replace memories of them together with new ones with Emily until Jordyn mentioned visions of them together while she was with another man.

Unfortunately Emily chose to replace him completely. Strangely Jordan felt more relieved when she'd admitted cheating on him . It brought clarity to him. For the first time he actually felt relieved that she would become someone else's problem.

That was Jordan's gut reaction. Emily was a problem. Never his love but a problem. Jordan also knew that referring to the one you agreed to share a life and took vows with as a problem was definitely not the one you were meant to be with .
