Albus's point of view
The weeks flew and Christmas was coming along. In a few weeks Albus was going home for the holidays. He had dinner with Scorpius in the great hall, and talked about what to do without each other. Since the summer ended neither one had spent a single day without the other. Merlin, he was going to miss him.
"I'll write to you. As many letters as Willy can carry," said Albus.
"You could make a book out of it," Scorpius suggested.
"You and your books," Albus laughed.
"But hey. You should come and visit me in the manor," Scorpius offered.
"I would love to!" he said.
He had been there once before, but only for short. It was on the same day Astoria had her funeral, so it all was quite depressing, plus Scorpius didn't even have time to show him his bedroom.
"Albus," Albus heard from behind, someone who sounded like Lily. He turned his head and found his siblings behind him, and for once, James had a serious look on his face. "Do you have a minute?"
"A minute for what?"
"We need to tell you something," said Lily. "And we can't tell you here in front of other people."
"Can we meet at the library later?" James asked.
"Okay," said Albus and nodded. "You want me to come alone?"
"I thinks it's the best. Not to keep any secrets for Scorpius, but we thought we'd tell you first."
"No worries. I understand," said Scorpius. James nodded.
"See you later then," said James and they both left.
His heart was beating fast right now and his breath was shaking. Did something happen?
As they finished their dinner, Scorpius went to the common room after Albus kissed him goodbye and promised to see him there later, and went straight to the library. Something happened to mum and dad, I know it! Why else would James and Lily, who barely talk to me, want to tell me in private? It could be anything. The terrifying thoughts he had gave him chills.
He met his siblings at the library. Neither one said a word, like they couldn't figure out what to say. About ten seconds later James gave him a letter.
"It's from dad," he said.
Albus snatched the letter with his shaking hand and read it. He was right. It was about mum and dad, but no such thing as he could expect. In fact, it was something he found to be more disappointing than terrifying. He looked up at James and Lily to see what they had to say about it, but they stayed quiet. He creased the letter and threw it on the floor, and left.
"Albus!" he heard his brother shout from behind. "At least we can talk about this!" Albus ignored him.
He didn't want to come near anyone right now. He felt a tear running down his cheek but wiped it immediately. This was not the moment to cry because he wasn't sad. He was angry. No, not angry. Very angry.
As he entered the common room he went to the desk and grabbed his quill and a piece of parchment to answer the letter.
"How did it go?" Scorpius asked.
"Like hell," said Albus without looking at him. Scorpius grabbed a chair and sat down beside him and tried to make eye contact.
"Are you okay? What happened?" Albus looked at him and thought he'd tell him straight ahead.
"My parents are getting divorced."
