Albus's point of view
On Saturday afternoon it was time for quidditch. Slytherin versus Ravenclaw. All Albus could think of was Scorpius the beater and Bianca the chaser. Would they even try beating each other? He didn't mind skipping it. Instead he went to the common room to get some time alone.
Hours passed and it was almost midnight. Albus was lying awake in his bed. Either Joseph or Scorpius had returned which worried him a bit, until he heard the door open along with their voices.
"I swear, I really wanted to punch him with my bare hands," he heard from Scorpius. Something was definitely wrong since it did not sound like him. "I can't believe he did it to Bea."
"She will recover for sure though," said Joseph. "And I don't think Rupert did it on purpose."
"I saw the look on his face. Like he wanted beat ber head off!"
Ah so something happened to Bianca, Albus thought. He opened his curtains and found Scorpius sitting on the edge of his bed and Joseph was standing beside him. Both of them turned to look at him.
"You're late," Albus pointed out.
"I know," said Joseph. "We were in the hospital wing. Something happened during the game."
"Rupert McLaggen, the other beater you know," Scorpius explained. It was the first time after weeks where he spoke directly to him. "He threw a bludger and hit Bianca's head."
I would have done the same, Albus thought but knew for sure it was not the right thing to say. Instead he acted like he was worried.
"Is she alright?" he asked.
"I hope so," said Joseph. "She's unconscious at the moment." Albus wanted to hope for her best. For Joseph. Not for Scorpius.
"So what about the game? Who won?" Albus asked although he was not interested at all.
"Slytherin," said Scorpius half proud. "320 to 290." Albus nodded as in well done.
* * * * *
The next day at lunch Albus was sitting alone as usual at lunch. Scorpius and Joseph were probably checking on Bianca. He was worried about her deep inside. Although it felt good that he didn't have to see her.
He left the great hall as he finished his lunch. He was on his way to the common room until he heard Scorpius calling for him from the staircases.
"Albus! There you are, I've been looking for you." Albus turned to look at him in shock.
"Me? Why?" Scorpius grabbed him and dragged him into a corner.
"About Delphi," he said keeping his voice low. "I know it was her you were talking to at the Three broomsticks yesterday. I saw her face." Albus was ready to admit it all.
"It's alright. She has changed," he said. Scorpius did not seem to buy it.
"What did she tell you?"
"We didn't have much time. But she needs me." Albus realized that it didn't sound right.
"Albus," Scorpius began. "Last time she needed your help we removed you from the timeline. And not to mention that we were almost killed! We can't let this happen again."
"No! This is different. If you were with me you would understand. She's ill."
Scorpius fell silent. He either didn't know how to respond, or didn't know if he believed him or not. Maybe both.
"What did she tell you during that time?"
"Mostly we talked about my life," Albus explained and was reminded of Delphi advise.
"Your life?" Scorpius asked although he could tell that he knew exactly what he meant.
Albus looked him deep in the eyes in response. Those beautiful gray eyes of his. Without breaking the eye contact he reached to grab his hand and rubbed it with his thumb. Scorpius looked at their hands and up to Albus again. Albus could feel a pain in his stomach. His eyes would tear up any minute at this point. He landed closer to Scorpius. He missed being this close to him. Their noses were almost touching now.
"Albus, what are you doing?" Scorpius whispered. Albus ignored him and began leaning closer. Just as their lips almost touched Scorpius backed off. "Albus, I can't."
"Why not?" said Albus feeling wounded.
"I'm with Bea," Scorpius forced out. Albus could read it by his eyes.
"Are you sure you love her?" he questioned and began leaning forward again. Scorpius kept his eyes on the floor to avoid the eye contact. Albus grabbed his chin and lifted his head up again to look at him. They looked each other deep in the eyes before Scorpius walked off. "Well I can tell by your eyes that I'm the one you love!" he shouted after him as he watched him disappear.
