Chapter 21

Scorpius's point of view

"My parents are getting divorced," said Albus.

"Wha- Really?" Albus nodded.

"We got a letter from dad. He said that things weren't very well at home. And that maybe it would be best if we..." He took a deep breath. "If James, Lily and I didn't come home for christmas." Scorpius couldn't figure out what to say.

"What's your plan then?" was all he could say.

"I guess I'll have to stay here. Do I have another choice?" Scorpius grabbed his hand.

"I'll stay with you then," he said and looked him in the eyes.

"What about your dad?"

"I'll send him an owl. If I tell him that you're not doing well and you need me here, he'll understand."

Albus looked at him. First he seemed to be confused, and then he seemed to realize what Scorpius just said. His eyes began tearing up as he threw his arms around his neck.

"Thank you," said Albus over his shoulder. They held for a beat before they released. "That means we'll be celebrating christmas together. Just you and me. And James and Lily of course."

"I'm looking forward to it," said Scorpius and pecked his lips.

Albus's point of view

Christmas was getting close and tomorrow the other students were going home. The boys were having dinner in the great hall, while the others were packing. Never had he seen this hall look this empty. Although Albus was still upset about what his dad wrote.

Later James and Lily came in and took their seats across from them.

"Still mad?" said James.

"The hell I am," Albus replied.

"Can you at least be positive?" said James.

"For what? For what?! For the fact that our dad has gone mad and doesn't want his own children home for christmas?!"

"About that-" Lily began but was interrupted.

"However, it doesn't matter. Because I want nothing to do with him. I going to stay here with you guys, and my beloved boyfriend and have a very merry god damn christmas!"

"Albus!" James snapped. "Just listen to us. Mum wrote to us. She lives in the burrow for the moment. She offered us come and stay there instead." Albus looked at Scorpius and then back at his brother again.

"We've already signed up to stay here," said Albus. "But say hi to grandma and grandpa from me."

"Lily. Your boyfriend," said Scorpius just as James was about to answer.

Albus looked up and saw Isac at the entrance. Lily left her seat and walked over to him.

"I still don't like him," Albus sighed.

"You know him?" said James.

"No but my friend told me about him. He was being a dick to her," Albus explained as all three of them looked at them, standing there kissing and smiling at each other.

"I thinks he's nice," said James. "He's been at the times I've met him."

"Will you excuse me," said Albus and made his way to Isac. "Can I talk to you for a minute? If you excuse us, Lily."

Before Lily could answer he brought Isac to the nearest classroom and asked him to sit. Albus took a seat on the desk infront of him to face him.

"So. I've seen you fancy my sister, am I right?"

"Yeah..." said Isac in confusion. "Why?"

"Look. I've known her and been by her side for her whole life. She's happy and is always looking at the bright side, and she's full of energy. She likes surprises and she hates it when the man pays. In fact, she's against the gender norm. And if she's upset it means something awful happened to her." He leaned his head closer. "Break her heart and you'll better watch out for me."

"I'm sorry? But... I'm not some kind of heartbreaker."

"You broke Bianca's heart," Albus reminded him.

"Look," said Isac after a beat. "Whatever she told you, she misunderstood the whole thing."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"First of all, I've would never hurt anyone. Back when Bianca and I hung out, she was nothing but a friend to me. I didn't even know she liked me that way. She just stopped talking to me after I met Alexandra, who's now my ex. Don't you think for a second that I'm just using Lily, because I don't. I love her and she deserves the best." Albus wasn't sure if he believed him or not.

"Fine. I'll give you a chance. I've warned you though."
