Chapter 29

Albus's point of view

There was no place where Albus felt comfortable around anymore. He spent the whole evening in his dorm where he could be alone. His curtains were drawn so he couldn't see anyone who entered. He didn't even feel like talking to Joseph.

He heard the door open and close, and some familiar footsteps. His curtains opened and there he found Scorpius standing there.

"Thought you'd be here," he said. Albus sighed.

"What do you want, Scorpius?"

"Look, I'm sorry you had to find out about Bianca and I in that way, but you were the one who broke up with me, remember?" Albus did not answer. "Can we leave it? We need to talk about Delphi."

"There nothing to talk about," Albus lied. Scorpius sat down across from him and drew the curtains.

"Tell me everything that she said or did to you. Are you hurt?" Albus shook his head.

"She didn't do anything bad. We just talked."

"And what exactly did she say?"

"She told me she regrets all the murders and tortures she caused. All of it. I didn't forgive her though. But then she told me she was ill-"

"That's it!" Scorpius interrupted. "She's lying. Like she did last time. She's trying to lure you into something again." 

Albus fell silent before answering.

"Whatever she's up to. I need to find out what it is," he said. Scorpius gently put his hand on his arm.

"I'm going to help you."

"I don't need your help," said Albus and pulled his arm away. "I can do this by myself."

"Albus, I can't let you put yourself in danger again. Not by yourself. I care about you, you know."

"Then show me that you do! Or go snogging Bianca if that makes you feel better."

"You're being ridiculous," Scorpius sighed. "Here I am trying to save you from a life and death situation and all you do is keep whining about my love life. It has nothing to do with you!"

"Actually it has a lot to do with me! You were mine first, remember? And if you don't agree with me then leave me alone! I don't care about what happens to me. I don't care if she kills me. I don't want your help!"

"Fine!" Scorpius snapped and left his bed.

Albus went to great hall by himself the next morning. From his table he could se Scorpius and Bianca sitting by the Ravenclaw table. It wasn't easy to ignore them. His focus on them was interrupted by Joseph who came to take a seat across from him.

"You're up early," he said.

"I couldn't go back to sleep," Albus explained.

"Thinking about Scorpius?" Albus looked up at him in surprise. "I heard about what happened between you."

"Well. It's not a lot easier now that he's dating that..." He was about to call Bianca a slut, but stopped himself as he realized he was talking to her brother. He wouldn't appreciate it if someone called Lily such a thing.

"I know," said Joseph. "You know, Bianca has no limits to cross. "Yet she accuses Isac to be a player."

"So he isn't that kind of guy?"

"Absolutely not. If you ask me, he's one of the nicest people you'd ever meet. Especially according to his Hufflepuff mates."

Their conversation was interrupted by two owls flying towards him. One of them was Wilbur with another letter from his dad.

"You're popular," Joseph joked.

Without a word Albus grabbed the letter from his dad and went straight ahead to throw it in the fire and then returned to his seat.

"Why did you do that?" Joseph asked.

"It was from dad. Don't make me explain it." Joseph nodded as Albus opened the other letter.

Hey there Albus. I thought we'd plan our next meeting. Don't worry. I won't harm you. Meet me outside the Three broomsticks at lunch on Saturday. I'll be in disguise but I'll give you a sign //Delphi 

"Who is it?" Joseph asked curiously.

"My mum," Albus lied. "Family issues."

He didn't want Joseph to get involved. He read the letter once again in hesitation if he really wanted to see her. Did he have the courage to do this by himself?
