It was last lesson. Chemistry. Mrs. Mendielev was talking about metals and which ones are most and least reactive. But I wasn't listening to any of that. I was too busy trying out figure out who in the world could have possibly given me the scarf. The scarf seemed to be made professionally.
As I was thinking I heard Mrs. Mendielev yell my name.
"Adrien!" She screamed.
"Y- yes?" I said as I quickly snapped out of my thoughts.
"What is the least reactive metal?" She asked, as she tapped her foot impatiently with crossed arms.
"Platinum. . ." I mumbled.
"And the most reactive?"
"Potassium. . ." I trailed off.
Marinette was sitting next to me and she stared at me in a nervous manner. I'm guessing she was afraid Mrs. Mendliev would send me to the principal's office. I smiled at her, and her cheeks burned up. I stared back at her. I was about to ask her something until Mrs. Mendeliev said, "You all are dismissed!".
The bell then rang and Marinette got out of her seat and bolted out the door. Great. . . Now I can't ask her. I'll just have to go home and ask Nathalie. She'll definitely know!
I also then got out of my seat and ran home.
As I was running home, I saw Marinette run inside her bakery without looking back.
I managed to get home. By then, Gorilla just had gotten into his car to pick me up. "O- oh! I came home already. It's okay!" I smiled at Gorilla. He gave me a crooked smile in return.
I ran inside.
"Nathalie! Nathalie!" I called her name out. "Yes, Adrien?" She said, exiting her office room.
"I know that father didn't give me the scarf." I stated.
She froze a little and looked uneasy.
"I'd like to know who did." I said.
"Okay, fine. Your father didn't give you the scarf. It was a blue haired girl with big tails. She was rather awkward and asked if she could hand it to you. But you were either in your room or your fencing class. I told her to put it in mail box. She did so and left. I didn't have your father's gift that time because he forgot and he was too busy working, so he forgot. I took off the blue haired girl's name from the box and told you that it was from your father. I'm sorry, Adrien. " She said and looked down at her heels.
I stared in shock. It was Marinette? Of course she'd know about the scarf! That explains everything! From her pointing to her avoiding!
Now the question is. . . Why did she pretend it wasn't her?
"Merci Nathalie." I muttered and ran up to my room.
"So it was Marinette!" I exclaimed.
"You just realized?" Asked Plagg as he flew out of my jacket.
I took off my jacket and hung it in my closet.
"It was had an M on it. Marinette is a designer. She was freaking out. Are you really this thick headed?" Asked Plagg.
"No." I said and sat down on my chair.
I wanted to thank her, but how?
She always runs away and avoids me. She can't even talk to me normally. I may have done something bad. Is she still salty because of the beginning of the year with that gum incident? I cleared it up, didn't I? I suppose we were friends, but I guess I'm wrong.
I sprang up from my chair with excitement.
"Light bulb!" I yelled.
"You know, you don't have to say "light bulb!" you can just say: I have an idea!" Said Plagg.
I waved my hand at him, shooing him away.
If I were to transform into Chat Noir, she wouldn't be afraid of me any longer! I could thank her through a message I, Adrien, sent!
I could stop by real quick during patrol and say: "Hey Marinette! Here's a thank you note from Adrien! He found out you made the scarf for him!"
But now I wonder why. . .
Why did she make the scarf for me if she hates me or is afraid of me? Why would she petend it wasn't her. She could have easily said, "Adrien! I made it for you!".
Actually, it would go something like this: "H- hey Adrien. . . I- I w-w-was the o-one wh-who m-made it. . ."
Well either way, she could have still told me it was her.
Gosh I have so many questions to ask!
I'll try talking to her as Adrien first and if that doesn't work, I'll just have to go as Chat Noir during patrol.
But we don't have school tomorrow! Ugh, this is so frustrating!
I'll just visit her tomorrow as Adrien.
