Costumes And Confessions

"So my place or your place?" I asked.

"I suppose we could do my place..." She mumbled.

"Sure. See you in a few lessons." I said.

"Okay. Sure!" She smiled.

We both then went our separate ways.

After school was over, we met up at the gate and left.

I noticed Alya giving me looks but I simply smiled and waved at her.

She gave me a thumbs up and Adrien and I left through the doors.

We walked in awkward silence.

I took a peek at him through my bangs. As our eyes met, he turned away from me and I swear on my life, I saw him blush!

I blushed, too. But afterwards, I remembered Chat Noir.

Why can't I get him off my mind?

Do I... Have TWO crushes?!

Isn't that a bit messed up?

I mean, Adrien did reject me whereas Chat admitted to liking me.

I'm not sure what to choose...

Once again, I was lost in my own thoughts and hadn't realised that we were standing at my doorstep.

"Uh... Marinette?" he waved his hand before my face.

"U-uh sorry!" I snapped back into reality.

"I'll get the door." He said and opened the bakery door.

We both walked in and my parents greeted us both with wide grins.

"Adrien, my pal!" Smiled my dad.

"How was school today?" They asked the both of us.

"Good." We both said.

We both blushed a bit.

My mom smiled at me slyly and went back to the counter.

"We'll be down here if you need us." Said my mom.

"Got it." Said Adrien and dragged me upstairs.

When we were finally in my room, alone and isolated, he started to speak.

"I've noticed a change in your behaviour, Marinette."

"U- uh. You did? I didn't notice?" I smiled sheepishly and scratched the nape of my neck awkwardly.

"Yeah. I did notice and I should probably do something now that I didn't do that day." He smiled.

He leaned in and kissed my cheek.

I blushed uncontrollably and he did too.

I was at a loss for words and anything my vocal chords produced sounded like, "Uhhh" or "Umm".

"Listen, I really, really like you and I'm sorry for what I did." He apologized.

I looked down.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"It may be a bit too late. I think I like someone else a bit more than you." I looked at my feet.

When I looked up at him, he looked upset.

"May I know who he is?" He asked.

"No. But I'm not going to be cruel. I'll give you a hint.

He dresses in black."

Who could that possibly be? Wait, wait, wait! I think I know.

Is she talking about my alter ego?!

Wait... That means she still likes me.

I smiled.

"Why're you smiling?" She asked.

"Well, let's just say I can't tell you but because I'm not cruel, I'll give you a hint.

Sometimes I dress in black too."

Okay so, that may have given it away.

She stared at me and blushed.

"But we might not be on the same page." I shrugged.

I didn't want to reveal my identity too soon.

I'll do it but... right now, it isn't safe and I don't feel like it.

"A- anyway, let's try to do the project. I'll take care of the costumes." She said.

"The teacher sent us the time line and how about we do the current heroes?" I asked.

"Isn't that a bit overrated?" She asked.

"Yeah but they're the trend and they have saved our lives."

"I suppose we can do costumes based off of theirs. I'll do a female Chat Noir suit and you'll be Ladybug because uh... Ladybug isn't my favorite." She said.

And I wanted to dress as Chat Noir.

"You know, we only ever see Chat in black. I mean, he is Chat Noir. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you took a liking to him somehow." I smiled.

"N- no! I'm so done with guys." She said, avoiding eye contact.

"What ever you say." I mumbled.

She pulled out polka dotted fabric and measured me with measuring tape.

Then she manged to measure herself even though it seemed uncomfortable to stretch over and measure herself.

She then pulled out fabric very similar to my suit except it wasn't leather and was slightly more stretchy.

"I'll work with this. You do the research on their personalities. Also, the teacher said we can either do history or do research on the current heroes. The time line of the history of heroes is easier but less marks whereas this one is going to earn us a lot of grades. And try to add your personal experiences with them. I'll add mine later.

Try to figure out how they behave during an Akuma attack." She said.

You know, she sounds just like Ladybug when creating plans.

It's cute.

I just wished she knew but it's a huge risk and it'll blow my cover.

She seems a bit tense around Adrien but not Chat Noir. Guess she can relate with Chat more somehow.

I suppose, as Chat, I'm more free.

After the project, I'll visit her.

"Do the research here and write it on the poster. Also, I'll need you here for the other days cause I'll be putting the costume together on you because you're accurate as a mannequin.

Anyway, get started! We've got a lot to do to get 100%!" She said and we both began work.
